When purchased, I was told it had approx 9,700 original miles on the engine and tranny, but it has been stored in a garage for 15 years. There is surface oxidation on the aluminum engine casings (but polishes out quite easily) and head, with rust spots on the chrome, including those awesome Norton pea-shooter pipes Belt Transmission✔ Electric Engine✔ Air Cooling System
This bike is a one family owned bike since new, the bike has been sat idle since 1977 the year it was wrecked on the left hand side, bars, tank, side cover, speedometer and left exhaust was damaged. The bike is 99% rust free, It still has the original MADE IN ENGLAND AVON GP Tires Mi. I have replaced all of the items and had the speedometer housing repaired and sealed, I will include a photo of the spedometer before repair verifying the original mileage as accurate Electric Engine

The rebuilt speedometer has around xxxx miles on the odometer (being ridden currently) and the original instrument has xxxx on it. In mechanically superior condition with recent servicing
I presumed that this was the original mileage, but an Ebay member shared that the speedometer may be from an earlier model. I am including a Corbin Gunfighter Seat & 2 Handlebars, which transform this into a racer. xxxx Norton Commando 850 Mark III is in excellent condition Belt Transmission

Front and rear fenders are stainless front fender has ding in rear see pictures otherwise both are good condition. Tach and speedo have been replaced prior to my ownership with xxxx or earlier Smiths instruments (with solid green ball) and they work but speedo shows xxxx1 miles on odometer so I doubt it is correct. Runs and shifts smoothly front brake drags on occasion I have not tried to bleed Air Cooling System

The engine, VIN plate and gearbox, and the left fuel tank mount all have matching numbers. I did not mount the exhaust back on, but the exhaust ports were always tape. Tank is clean inside. Still has the original frame decals. Bike is in beautiful condition. It has 10,217 miles
This has been freshly tuned, fluids, carbs, tires etc. no broken fins, original frame paint and chrome. This is 90% untouched, no wrench marks on engine bolts etc. I planned on keeping this forever so I put Hagon shocks and 750 style header pipes with 750 exhaust nuts etc. Very original xxxx roadster in candy red with original tool kit and both Union keys (ignition & fork lock) Frame paint

The frame and engine numbers for this bike are F111040 and 316197. An Interstate model with the rare 6.6-gallon gas tank, good for 200-plus miles between fill-ups. 1974 Norton Commando 850 Interstate models are the last of the 'pure' Nortons with the right-side shift lever and left-side brake pedal before a federal mandate forced a reversal of those positions in '75 2175 Miles
Color is always a bit subjective. A very careful eye will notice a few parts are "wired" to the engine. New petcocks were installed and new fuel lines. The tank was recently flushed. Close inspection of the engine will reveal a Mikuni carb
