The bike was recently (beginning of this summer) completely gone through and received new tires, rebuilt wheel bearings, new rear shocks, refreshed front fork, trans re-seal, rear drive reseal and re-shim, new stainless steel front spokes laced to a correct BMW Weinmann 18-inch wheel, new battery, all new fluids, carb rebuild, new points, new brakes and more. The fenders are from a Bultaco, seat is custom made to fit the custom sub-frame. The paint is original and still shines nicely although the bike has acquired nicks, scratches and developed a "patina" from regular use

1973 bmw r75/5 long wheel based toaster tank airhead motorcycle for sale. I bought this bike along with a 1972 short wheel base toaster last august. I prefer the swb one, so am selling this one. I have ridden this bike only a dozen times in the last year. It is in very good shape considering its age and would make for a great custom project or keeping it vintage as-is. Recently re-tuned up and ready to ride. All original parts, except for handlebars and starter, which have been updated. Chrome is good, especially on the toaster panels. Paint is good, with minor scratches, and a small chip in the paint on the front fender. Leather seat is flawless. Speedometer does not work and is missing the needle. New battery and tires. The engine received a complete rebuild 2 years ago and runs great. Me/williamderbylocal pick up only, but i can assist with shipping pick up.

We have made a very temporary patch on the mufflers with several layers of aluminum tape so we could test ride the bike. While we had the swingarm loose for the transmission work we went ahead and serviced both the front and rear wheelbearings another specialized job needed on most older BMWs. We cleaned and inspected the clutch and installed a stronger more reliable rear pressure ring. the rear seat hinge needs replaced. Has Ignition â Keyâ / Light switch knob but does not have flat key to lock steering neck or seat. Needs battery and the rest of a Major Service. Starts easily runs well. 1973 BMW R75/5 SOLD!!..... We got this BMW in on a trade-in and don't have time immediately to give it the end-to-end deep service that we do on most BMWs that we sell. While we had it out we pulled the clutch and flywheel and installed a new rear main seal and oil pump oâ ring. Bike has a tool tray no tool kit. Since it takes special tools to fix the weak spring on the transmission shifter we went ahead and pulled the transmission opened it up cleaned and inspected fixed the shifter spring installed all new seals and resealed the back cover. Both original BMW Cigar shaped /5 mufflers are rotting out on the bottom. Because both tires were very old and cracked we mounted and balanced a newer set of used Metzeller tires while we had the wheels off the bike. Some oil leaks from pushrod tube seals on left should be fixed before extended miles. Running and rideable "Project Bike". A new rear Metzeller tire was mounted and balanced. We tore down cleaned and inspected and rebuilt the front fork. Then scroll down to the bottom right and click on the word â Fullâ . the steering neck bearings were also replaced. the wiring was repaired in several places. Full Mechanical Rehab This vintage BMW has been extensively serviced and many items rebuilt. We replaced the engine rear main seal inspected the oil pump and installed a new cover oâ ring. 1973 BMW R60/5 LWB. the paint is in good condition but not perfect; there are several nicks and scratches but it is bright and shiny and very striking from a short distance away. New throttle clutch and brake cable boots were installed. New 13 rib fork â Gatorsâ were installed. the cam chain was replaced and new front engine seals installed. the instrument set was repaired and reconditioned. New original style round front foot peg rubbers and hand grips were installed. the rod bearing clearance on the crankshaft was checked and also found to be well with specification. We de-carboned the head and lapped the valves. the original /5 exhaust is in good condition and the mufflers are shinny. Next we cleaned and rebuilt the carburetors. New original Continental cloth braided fuel line was installed. Both wheels got new bearings and seals and the rusty chrome spokes were replaced the aluminum rims were polished and the wheels trued. the clutch was inspected and the friction disc was replaced. 1973 BMW R60/5 LWB SOLD.... A full 10 K Major service was performed to make the bike ready to go for the Spring. the valve guides are in good condition. the final drive was also torn down inspected and resealed. We replaced the input shaft cushion drive spring and resealed the transmission. Motorcycles Other DX5631161624338526640166348 DX1 . We tore down the transmission and inspected it carefully. We tore down and inspected the top end and found it to be in good condition with piston clearance well within factory specifications. There is a small dent on the upper right rear of the tank just above the chrome tank cover and the pin stripes are worn at the rear of the tank on both sides. A new drive shaft boot was installed. We have started putting some test ride miles on it as weather permits (300 miles to date) and will continue working on the little details that still need to be addressed. Update 2/21/17: just sent the bike through cheshire for full fluid annual. They took wheels off and tightened spokes to spec, updated some bushings, checked bearings, and made some other suggestions. I am motivated to let this bike go. This is a screaming deal and much less than i paid for it 2 yrs ago. (i've barely put 500miles on it since i bought it.) this machine is a beauty. I just need the space and am going to take a loss to let this go so i can make room for a new machine. I don't have a passion for the sidecar like i thought i would, but it's fun! I bought this from the 2nd owner since it was rebuilt.. Neither of us put many miles on it.
