This 1977 lancia scorpion is in the hands of its third enthusiast owner from new, with just under 77,000 documentedoriginal miles. The original owner kept it until 1981 when it went to its second caretaker. I purchased it from himin july, 2011. It is completely original- and that is rare for these cars. I am an automotive historian, appraiser, writer and lancia enthusiast who looked for the right scorpion for manyyears before finding this one. I wanted a car that was as it left the pininfarina factory for america- withoutmodifications and ‘updating’. The more desirable ‘flying buttress roof’ model, it has never been neglected or left parked in a barn. Theoriginal paint shows a few signs of aging but is very presentable. It features the original vinyl interior, whichshows minor signs of wear and aging, as does some rubber trim. It has its working original cassette radio andspeakers, the power windows operate perfectly as do the seat backrest wand adjusters. The factory a/c blows strong andcold and recent work has included shift linkage bushings and an emissions system overhaul. It has been driven onthe texas 1000 rally and performed superbly, and been shown at the quail, a motorsports gathering in carmel valley,ca. This scorpion is a blast to drive, with superb handling balance, excellent visibility and stunning looks. Thisis a rare opportunity to find an unmolested, always cared for and driven lancia scorpion. Must sell---out of space. Late model with rear buttrace windows. Motor totally new build on Fiat 1 litre block (testing miles only). Cloth folding sun roof folds and stows. Yellow with natural leather seats and dash, tan carpeting. New floor boards and firewall welded in and painted black. Engine compartment painted black before motor installation. All interior removed for painting (except drivers seat), all included with car. Custom fitted indoor/outdoor cover. Always stored indoor by currrent owner. European bumper--(Rear is new). Winsdshield loose and needs re-set. Ready for paint although paint not bad. Drivers door edge dented at edge and needs straightened.
