For sale 1979 honda cbx - 1000i am the 2nd person to have taken on this restoration. The 1st person i purchased the bike from 3 years ago did a remarkable job, however, he just ran out of money to finish it. I am offering this up for sale, for the right price. I challenge anyone to build one as fine as this example, not to say it cannot be done but it is going to be a process, not to mention how difficult getting nos parts are becoming, as well as the insane costs, plus so many parts are now nla, not to mention the time and labor invested into a project such as this bike. I cannot think of anything else at this time that either needs replacing or needs attention. I am happy to say i am finally done. It has just undergone a brand new paint job, complete top to bottom absolutely everything done, i mean everything. Every seal, bearing, dust cover, engine internals, engine externals, please see below what has been done to this bike. While i was able to get receipts for most of the 1st part of the restoration, i know there are receipts that i did not receive. I know i am leaving a lot of things out that have been either updated or replaced. I have tried very hard to ensure everything on this bike is genuine honda or nos, even the dang zerk fitting is genuine honda nos. This bike only has 150. 1 miles on the clocks since the engine rebuild. I only use this bike for my coffee shop runs once a month, i do start the bike up every 30 days thru the winter, and it also resides in a heated garage with my other bikes. There are (2) items which are not original per my doing. (1) is the pipes, i had dumb luck and had the good fortune to be able to acquire a set of 6 into 6 pipes from pipe masters, these pipes are so rare they only import a dozen or less every year into the usa, and the cost alone is $2495. 00 plus freight from australia. They look amazing, they sound amazing, and at my rate of riding i will never get to hear these pipes at full song. (2) i had the alternator replaced by tim's with a alternator conversion which eliminates the brushes, clutches, regulator, and rectifier, no more crappy electricals’, it even charges at idle, total reliability. I also have the original alternator and rectifier which will be sold with the bike. The bike comes with the original owner’s manual, the original tool kit, and the original owner’s identification card. Like i said there have been so many items upgraded, replaced, rebuilt i know the list below does not even begin to cover all the things done. If the bike does not sell, it will be an honor to be its caretaker until i am gone. I just put on the pipes as it had a 6 into 1 header on it. I asked him for the original seat, he said its long gone 30 years ago. It has always been kept in a climate controlled garage along with many classic cars. it has only been ridden a few times in the last 30 years. This cbx has been owned by a good friend of mine since 1980. It could use new tires as they are over thirty years old

hich dont have a scratch on them --the only flaws are a small scratch on top of the tank in the black section and theres a couple scratches on the airbox corner where it turns in to the carbs on the left side. This is a rare find to get one with this low a mileage. and checked out everything to make sure the bike is in tip top ready to ride condition--theres nothing to say other than its a super nice one and everything appears to be original --other than the oem crashbars

The tires have about 1000 miles on them. It has Kerker exhaust system and there is a scratch on the right one, but it sounds great. Brand New chain and battery, the starter is also brand new, the front forks have been repaired, the bike still has the air box which most cbx’s don’t have them any longer

100% restored from ground up. Motor is completely fresh from crank to values!! Carbs were sent away and totally rebuilt and have been synced. Put a new high out put starter and generator on it as well from tims cbx. I have put a little over 400 miles on new motor. Paint is perfect and flawless. Seat is in great shape. I do have the stock exhaust that will go with it. Also have stock handlebars... Current ones make the ride a little more enjoyable. Other than that bike is totally stock and professionally done.
