Xxxx wla harley davidson 45" flathead. Bike is titled as a wla but i believe the bottom end was replaced on a wl. Bike does not appear to be converted from military. My guess is, the bottom end was replaced many years ago with a more readily available wla. Bike also appears to have an original chrome front end which i would assume is from a vl. This is a great bike and fires right up. Bike has some reproduction parts including dash, speedo and a few other odds n ends. Paint is in good shape with one deep scratch on the rear fender. I have the front fender, bottom half of rear fender, and other original items for the bike that were taken off. Bike is converted to 12 volts with a new electrical system. Bike has original linkert carb. Rear exhaust port on cylinder has an old repair done to it. Bike is overall in great condition for its age and would make an excellent runner for anyone's collection.

The motor is 84ci with about 9000 miles on it The bottom end is S&S and the top end is Flat Head Power, the tranny is a new Revtech trans with less than 500 miles on it & a belt drive primary. This bike has Harley title & it is stamped in the left engine case where it should be as a 42FL xxxxx.. The left gas tank has a chip in in the paint & the fender has a couple of minor paint chips

Seller's Comments and Description: I rebuilt the engine myself with new cylinders, pistons, rings, main bearings, seal & gaskets. Engine is basically rebuilt to brand new. Went through and replaced the seals in the tranny as well. Bike includes a supply of new WLA parts I bought in early 70s from Dixie supply - these parts can be used to trade for others needed. Bike incl 2 manuals - 1 maintenance, tuning & adjustments type manual, and a photocopy of 1944 library of congress WLA parts book - shows exploded views of every section of the bike incl optional & winterization equipment down to the nuts & bolts. Originally planned to make a chopper out of the bike when I bought (1969 = saw Easy Rider movie) but then decided after starting to chrome parts (wheels, springer etc.) might make more sense to restore to military since my father had rode them in WWII. Used a paint akin to MP colors, not OD tho these bikes can be marine green, OD, white, navy grey and so forth. Details ConditionYear: Used 1942 Contact Seller.

Matt even suggests that it may have been a military model with the factory appearing addition of the 1/2-20 bungs on the upper back half of the frame accompanied with OD green paint showing through in places under the black paint..
