I took it apart and it sat for a couple of years first rebuild was by dean lenker of harrisburg pa. Dean took a basket case and assembled it for meover a period of about 3 years. Dean had truckloads of original parts . Dean claimed to have been onthe harley racing team in the 40’s, but i called the hd historian and they had never heard of himhe was in his 80’s when he worked on my 45 , i learned a lot working with him in his shop i rode it for 10 years and took it apart again and gave it to bill morris of bloomsburg pa one piece at a timeover a number of years i have a receipt for every dollar i’ve spent on this bike including, rebuilding the engine, transmission, generator, distributor and i just had bill rebuild the carburetor again this past summer reproduction wiring harness, battery box, tool box, speedometer, handle bars, fenders, seat , coil, oil lines , spedochain guard , wheels , lights and linkage heads are cast iton they should be aluminum barrels and heads are wla as is the m88 linkert carburetor. Rebuilt 3 speed transmission is unmarked , probably wla as is the distributor front end is off of a servi car so it has an external front break drum as opposed to it being laced into the wheelall new bushings and bearings were replaced on the front end when it was installed. Original highway bars, tanks, jiffy stand, fender stand, running boards, frame , engine casings, primary chain cover the jiffy stand was the hardest item to find , they don’t reproduce cast iron parts. Look at the back wheel photo . Oil and generator lights work, as does the manual distributor advance . The speedometer shows about 267 miles, that’s how long the cheesey nylon drive gear on the reproduction spedo drive lasted . I’ve been through dozens of themi doubt this bike has 2,000 miles on the rebuilt motor, i only ever road it locally i don’t believe this was ever the racing version as it did not have ball bearings on the cams when i took it apart. The original would also have had an intake manifold like a t as opposed to the y version on the wlai replaced the original racing cams with wla cams , i still have the originals , but they’re beat it does have one extra tooth on the primary drive gear as a wldr should.
