1970 BMW R75/5 Toaster Tank with 62,879 miles. Metzeler tires are both in good condition. Engine and drive line have no leaks but the plastic intake hoses are fading to a brownish hue which is common on these bikes. The fenders and frame appear to be original but look very clean. The paint looks nice but the tank has obviously been repainted in the past

For sale is a 1970 bmw r60/5this motorcycle shows only 24k miles on the clock. Obviously, this bike has been completely customized favoring a vintage café racer style. It has an electric starter as well as the kick-starter ~ fires right up with no problems and settles into a quiet purrrrr like a vintage bmw should. Smooth shifting 4 speed gearbox. It's not an oil leaker either. I’ve taken it to a few vintage bike night rides and it’s a real head-turner.

Centerstand has nonstandard tine welded on. Both fenders have no cracks. Project Bike Paperwork says bike has 8 000 miles but we have no idea if that is correct. Small dings on both Hub caps. Transmission shifts well in all gears shifter return spring bad. tank has rusty front edges a ding on right by emblem small ding LH upper no fuel cap cap pivot point needs straightened tank needs relined no petcocks no emblems carburetors slides free motor does not turn clutch stuck good valve covers. Seat pan is OE in good condition. Then scroll down to the bottom right and click on the word â Fullâ . Nice rear shock covers. 1970 BMW R50/5 2900674 1970 BMW R50/5 Black. Both rims straight with no flat spots; will polish up nicely. Fair headlight bucket (minor flat edge at 10 Oâ clock position) wires poor no instrument (we found & included core with proper ratio to use for rebuild) no ring / lens / reflector insert. Exhaust headers good crossover fair. MAC mufflers solid but finish poor. Has missing rear hinge also has missing pivot on subframe. OE taillight has cracked lens no front turn signals and no rear turn signals or rear mounting bar. All the rubber parts are very good to excellent except the rider pegs and shift lever rubber. Pair 13 Rib boots New Euro bars Front brake switch w/rubber boot Upper brake and clutch cables boot Air filter. We repaired the broken Speedometer needle serviced the speedo & Tach. March 2015: under the owners instructions we installed New front wheel bearings and seals serviced the rear wheel bearings and did an Engine Tune with Oil & Filter. We also repaired the centerstand & sidestand pivots. â Humpbackâ tank. We also installed a Rebuilt bench seat with 1 piece grab-rail 1972-73 style. Then scroll down to the bottom right and click on the word â Fullâ . Installed a pair of quality Reproduction â Cigar tipâ /5 mufflers. It starts easily and runs smoothly. the previous owner neatly installed external retention springs in the chrome headlight ring because once the headlight insert was not installed properly and it popped loose while riding. Then click on the larger photo on the right to see it in a full screen pop-up window. It is equipped with the larger 22 Ltr. We installed a good tested Used diode board and Used rotor to get the bike charging properly. the engine compression is good the leak-down is minimal and it doesnâ t smoke. 3 years 1350 mi: ago: 10K Service New front and rear Metzellers; mount & balance. 1 year 350 Miles ago. Another new Battery was also installed. We resealed the top end both cylinders. Since we resealed the top-end a year ago we have seen no oil leaks. There is a tool tray but no tool kit or tire pump. This bike has matching numbers frame motor and title. the front turn signals are black plastic instead of the original (expensive!) aluminum signal bodies. There is a chunk of fin missing from the left cylinder but it is not readily noticeable as it is below the larger head. the inside of the fuel tank has been relined with silver POR15 fuel tank liner; the job was performed perfectly. It has â Sâ handlebars and bar-end mirrors. We also cleaned and Detailed the bike to the 1st level (looks GREAT from 6 feet). We installed a new H4 Headlight bulb A pair used turn signals and a new Battery. the Ohio title is clear.

It is loaded with accessories and upgrades! Konis SS Exhaust 2970302 â 70 R75/5 LWB Convert Teal. It is fully serviced and ready to travel. the Kreem lining on the inside of the fuel tank was in poor conditioned so we removed it with acetone then acid etched the inside and re-lined it with POR15 for decades more of trouble free use. Then click on the larger photo on the right to see it in a full screen pop-up window. the paint is recent and of good quality. 10 K Service. the heads were decarboned and the valves were hand lapped for good sealing. the mileage is since the Long Wheel Base modifications were made. We replaced the rear main seal and oil pump Oâ ring and lubed the clutch splines. the Avon tires are in very good condition. the front fork has been improved with both a lower fork brace and a billet top triple clamp for significantly more stability. 1970 BMW R75/5 LWB SOLD..... We cleaned the carbs inspected and re-sealed the engine top end honed the cylinders and installed new rings. We performed the extensive BMW Factory recommended 10K Service plus much more. 2970302 â 70 R75/5 LWB Convert Teal. Overall the bike is bright and shinny and clean. Then scroll down to the bottom right and click on the word â Fullâ . the clutch assembly was upgraded to the more robust /6 style. 10 K Service. Koni Shocks were installed. the front points seal was also replaced. A /6 subframe was used and the improved /7 driveshaft / swingarm was chosen to stretch out the wheelbase. the mid size 750cc motor will get superior fuel mileage and smoother running than the larger size motors and still has plenty of horsepower to get 2 people and camping gear up to safe merging speed by the end of a short on ramp or to pass a truck quickly on a two lane by running it up to 80mph . We do not know the actual mileage but believe it to be in the 50 000-60 000 Mile range. It would be totally at home either on a remote two lane blacktop or on the Super Slab. New Continental braided cloth covered fuel lines were installed. This BMW was originally a short wheel base bike. A Boyer Electronic ignition has been installed. the tires are in very good condition. the transmission was opened up inspected and resealed also. Because there is now more room the battery box was converted to the /6 box to hold the larger battery...
