1980 bmw r65 airhead for sale. Starts, runs and stops well. Great bike in good shape for the year. Pros:-starts right up and runs well. Typical for the age of the bike (pictured).-developed a small noise when going over big bumps in the rear. Looks like rear shocks could use some new bushings before next season. Totally rideable at this point. -could use a little carb balancing before next season.

Selling my pristine and distinctive 1980 bmw r65, with less than 10 thousand original miles. A true classic, old enough (37 years old) to really capture the essence and simplicity of a classic bike, yet new enough to feature certain luxuries like an electric starter and front disk brake. Of the generation of motorcycles that bmw built its reputation for reliability upon, this motorcycle has been very reliable and runs perfectly. Very lightweight, the bike is ideal for spirited riding through the twisties, yet comfortable and planted, suitable for longer rides. The tank, side panels, rear panel and fender have all been restored within the past two years, as well as a major service conducted by the dealer, including a valve adjustment, rebuilding the front brake and more. These desirable models are appreciating in value, rather than depreciating and this example is perfect for anyone interested in capitalizing on this trend. The bike is in absolutely excellent condition, however, the seat and only the seat requires restoration. Patching it or replacing the material are potential solutions. The seat aside, this bike is in show condition. Other than the restored paint and the rear shocks, i believe the bike to be otherwise entirely original. This air-cooled boxer is far more agile than its bigger siblings, due to its shorter wheelbase and better frame geometry. As enjoyable as it is to ride, it's just as pleasing to look at. It has the single, original key which uniquely folds, as well as the metal tag required to produce a duplicate. Selling below value because i have my eye on another bike, and need the space for it. This 1980 BMW R65 is in excellent mechanical & cosmetic condition, with clear title, very low mileage, original owner’s manual and complete mint tool kit with rap, perfect seat, excellent original chrome and paint; new shocks, battery, starter & front brakes. The tires and rims are in excellent condition (lots of tread). Horn is missing (easily replaced) and the wires are intact. It is very hard to find a R65 of this vintage in such excellent condition
