Once up to temperature the overhead valve engine in this car pulls strong through all of the gears revving freely thanks to the well synched pair of Zenith Stromberg carburetors. The car doesn't drip oil or coolant, nor does it smoke. It runs cool, as it is equipped with dual electric pusher fans to supplement the original crank driven fan. 1974 tvr 2500m sunroof coupe an exotic, full body-off restoration. Tube frame with fiberglass body. Current and previous owner have been members of the western carolina british car club. A complete restoration in 2004 which included all upholstery and carpet. The entire car was rewired with a modern wiring harness, connectors, fuse-box and relays so the typical british gremlins have been banished! Tvr used triumph tr6 engines and drivetrains, so parts are easy to find and affordable to purchase. The restoration included a hotter cam and removal of the period, power sapping smog junk. With only 39k miles on the engine, an overhaul was not necessary but seemed to be a good idea once they were into the motor. That was about 8k miles ago and the motor is now torquey and powerful. A handmade custom wooden dashboard is a work of art. The original aluminum hinges were a weakness so brass tubes were mounted to make lubrication an easy task. Wheels were upgraded to a larger compomotive “mini lite” style for improved handling and appearance. Tvr cars were hand built and only 947 m cars were produced.
