This car needs a complete restoration, however the floor pans and frame rails are solid just surface rust as far as I can tell and I have included pictures. It will need quarter patch panels, rocker panels (included not installed) one small patch left upper tail (very small) and one small spot on the windshield frame. The Left door could be repaired but easier to replace with used the right door is good but needs hinges

The fastback design, although aesthetically pleasing, was too heavy for the 1147cc 4 cylinder output and the model was shelved. After re-evaluation the gt6 was born with the michelotti designed body and the more powerful 6-cylinder triumph vitesse engine with a marketing campaign to talk about the racing success. The 1972 triumph gt6 offered here is the finest gt6 to grace the floor of the gr auto gallery. It has been treated to a complete, performance driven restoration finished in desirable sapphire over blue and black two-tone interior. The car is powered by its performance built 2. 5-liter inline 6 cylinder engine, 4-speed transmission with overdrive, and rear wheel drive. Mechanical highlights included dual stromberg carbs, high performance cam, ceramic headers, custom dual exhaust, aluminum valve cover, coil-over suspension, cm external oil filter system with braided lines and oil distribution block, etc. Cosmetically, the car is excellent in all areas. The sapphire blue exterior paint, although not fresh, lays flat, has a deep gloss and shows excellent in all areas. The interior is excellent including a near perfect dash and gauges, newer carpet, excellent headliner and newer upholstery. The engine compartment is detailed and tidy, the underside remains very detailed as the undercarriage is fully restored as well. The performance of this gt-6 is amazing. With a little choke and the turn of the key, the car springs to life with a healthy exhaust note and excellent throttle response. Once to temperature, the car absolutely sings through the rpms with precise shifting through the gears. The overdrive engages flawlessly enabling high speed cruising for extended periods of time. The suspension and steering work together in tandem, tight, true, providing outstanding feedback to the driver in performance driving situations. The triumph gt6’s have recently fallen in favor with vintage performance enthusiasts. Their classic gt styling is timeless, and while british sports cars are usually of the open-air variety, the gt6’s design and performance fiercely competes with any car in its class that all of europe had to offer. They are high on the collectability scale and are poised to increase in value.
