Sporting a completely new look for 1954, the second-generation oldsmobile super 88s received all new bodies that were longer and lower than the previous models, as well as wraparound rear windows and windshields, a design feature only used by buick, oldsmobile, and cadillac at that time. This restored 1954 oldsmobile super 88 was assembled at gms southgate plant and features a 324ci 4bbl rocket v8 that produces 185 horsepower and 300 ft. In addition to the optional automatic transmission, this super 88 was also ordered with a number of other options, including power steering and power brakes, both of which work excellently. Fully restored inside and out, this super 88 has been repainted in its original glacier green and shows very well with few blemishes while inside the interior, the two-tone light and dark green leather upholstery has been restored as well. Other features on this oldsmobile include a power top as well as an electric clock, an original deluxe am radio, and an accessory g. Spotlight, while the dash features gauges for water temperature, oil pressure, fuel, and amperage. Other exterior features on this super 88 include a continental kit, optional back-up lights, a $14 dollar option in 1954, as well as set of optional deluxe wire-spoke hubcaps which are mounted to a set of stock wheels wrapped in b. Goodrich silver town l78-15 whitewall tires. As a top-of-the-line super 88 and a convertible as well, this '54 oldsmobile was the most expensive of the super 88 model line and also the least produced, with merely 9,007 convertibles built out of a total of 242,192 super 88's in 1954, just over three percent of total production, so not only is this convertible relatively rare, it's also a great looking early fifties car that really stands out among the more common offerings of the era from ford and chevrolet.
