The rarest body configuration of the several morgan +4 variants, and the most elegant & expensive when new. during series ii production, only 386 were produced on a new, updated chassis. the drophead features a sophisticated 3-position convertible top, allowing an open landau front portion when desired, fully lowered & open, or the option of just unzipping the large rear window. This car, chassis #4348, was originally delivered new to north america in left-hand-drive and carries the desirable options of triple-laced 72-spoke chrome wire wheels, heater, luggage rack, disc brakes and leather trim. even better, it has the optional triumph tr-3a engine instead of the standard english ford unit. The top is a quality haartz-cloth unit that was replaced when the entire car underwent a major body-off restoration about ten years ago. also included is a matching tonneau cover and a padded pouch to store the windows in when removed. The car has been in a private collection for the past several years and was just brought out and given a proper engine tune, fuel system service and new battery. It runs very well and is a pleasure to drive with the lively triumph 2-liter engine. The last large photo above is the car in front of the castle of lord montague's manor, beaulieu, england. this is when the car was selected with 11 others at the 2009 morgan 100th centenary.
