It has a 383 cui motor. The motor cranks right up and runs smooth . Transmission shifts smooth and very nice as well. This engine was put in mercury's from 1958 to 1960. The car has less than 80,000 miles and has power brakes, power steering and automatic transmission. It all work nice as it should. It's what can happen to florida sunny classics. That's not a big deal for an upholstery. Headliner still good, no rip. Paint is old but still nice! The car has 4 new tires with less than 1000 miles on them, also a new exhaust. The only rust on the paint is in back of the left quarter panel, it is about 1" buy 4". This mercury was build in oakville ontario canada. Restoration photo album shows this car stripped down to bare metal and repainted in original tucson turquoise. The interior is all original except new carpet and seat covers. All dash bezels are in excellent condition and show a well cared for 60k actual miles, all chrome has been redone, a new nos trunk mat was installed and has spare with correct tire cover. Mechanically the car has been gone through with new front end rebuild and coil springs all around. New gas tank was installed. New crank and cam gears were done along with rebuild of power steering pump, distributor and carburetor. Dual master cylinder was rebuilt and new brake lines installed. White wall tires are aprox. 1yr old. This mercury is detailed very nice and is a quality car throughout!

They had created a handsome design that wasn't too outrageous but also did not look like a dressed up ford. It was the perfect balance that is as stylish as a well-fitting suit. And this monterey looks like it's truly ready for its black tie affair, dressed in nothing but a sleek black, whitewalls, and plenty of chrome. It starts up front in a sophisticated presentation where the headlights almost look like they are floating in the waterfall grille. Along the side, there is an unbroken trim line that follows the kick up for the nicely integrated tailfin. In the back, the taillight surround provides the perfect design balance between the upper trim and the mirror-like chrome bumper. This is truly a class act. But one of the most amazing feats of this whole vehicle is arguably the roofline. With its large back window and sweeping c-pillar, it looks like a lincoln hardtop when the power folding soft top is in place. The interior looks like a tuxedo. Black and white alternate and weave within each other to create a very sophisticated presentation. But this classic is also fun when it's just the driver. The v8 is believed to be the correct 312 cubic-inch motor from the era. Its presentation is quite nice with the big blue air grabber that still has the correct stickers, and the m logo valve covers are that perfect '60s cool. This is a well maintained powerhouse, and so the v8 fires up nicely and idles like a smooth mercury should. The same effortlessness can describe the ride and its overall demeanor on the road. After all, mercury only produced 6,062 examples, and that was well over half a century ago.
