We were lucky enough to be in business during the "gold rush"of 1989-1995 when both european's and american's sought out vintage jaguars with fervor as they were seen as a 'pivotal collector piece'. We were able to service their needs by supplying an honest acquisition of the best of the best and sold about 1,000 to discerning european customers. Choosing the best of the xk series, most arguably center on the xk150 as the most desirable / pivotal example. Introduced 10 months after the other models (fixed head coupe and drophead coupe) in march 1958, the 'ots' (open two seater) then quickly out-sold the other models ~ which clearly justified introducing it, in lieu of the dhc or fhc. Incredibly, only a handful of roadsters reached the british market after introduction until nov. 1958. The bonus with the xk model was that the archaic side windows screens from the xk120 & xk140 were gone , replaced by roll-up windows. But, the real coup was the introduction to the rarest of the xk150's~ the s~ sport model . Positioned on the door tops and a special sequence of matching data plate numbers to the engine. Only 888 were built total and they carried a unique 3. 4 litre engine that utilized 3- 2â€? The raised inlet manifold allowed each carburetor to feed a pair of cylinders. The air cleaner used air trumpets protruded under the inner front fender which necessitated changes in design. It could carry single or twin exhaust, which this car is fitted with. In the chassis number of their xk150, that makes it the rare sport model. That would be a misnomer. The engine number sequence and head should state vs?. The straight port head was painted 'gold' and produced 265hp. With the overdrive option, the rear axle ratio was 4:09:1. Models could also have the power-lok limited slip differential. Beginning feb. 1958 all xk 150's carried disc brakes, front & rear, developed from the c-type and d-type jags. The radiator varied from the xk140's in that it had a separate filler behind the header tank with a 'short neck' that almost appears uncharacteristic looking. This car carries the lucas foglights, 60 spoke chrome wire wheels (correct 60 spoke), black canvas top /boot and wide whitewalls tires (incl. Nothing is more precious then a set of 'correct original tools and tool roll'. Badging and 'gold head' tell the story- this is one rare car. Discovered in a barn in tennessee, it has 58,662 original (title proven) 'actual' miles, with only 300 miles since restoration. It's discerning restoration, in 2012, was done by tom curren of coventry classic in orlando, florida. It won southeastern champion twice and north american champion in 2015. It has been subjected to a scrupulous, frame-off restoration to exacting standards. Everything was rebuilt or replaced. Driven to many shows, it is a gorgeous car down to the screws, rivets and hose clamps.  this beauty was also used by the producers of the 'mad men' television show as the center piece in the grand ball room at the omni champion gate hotel in orlando, fl. It is a stunning color combination and in a recent study of sales- the car is priced very fairly to sell @ $225,000 usd (190 eu). : home sales (uk) of 1958 ots models:  6,  all xk150 (1957-1961) ots models:  1386 all s? This classic was restored in the 1990’s to a show level finish. It has been driven only 1400 miles since the restoration. The owner, prior to myself, owned it since 1972. When he passed, i was able to acquire the car from his estate. It is a numbers matching car, with the venerable 3. 4 liter inline six cylinder engine that was fully rebuilt during the restoration. It starts on the first turn of the key and idles perfectly. She drives very well and shifts well – having a new clutch and a rebuilt transmission. It features chrome wire wheels – including the spare. The interior is in restored condition aside from vandalism done at a car show. Note in the pictures that the door panels (only) were sliced – both sides. Also, i have new (wing) side view mirrors that will be installed prior to the acquisition and new chrome bonnet trim (just arrived). There was a small ding on the old one. The right rear turn signal has a dent – but, i ordered a new one – and will replace it. Other than that, she shows very nicely. I’ve had a vast collection of cars and have been fond of xk’s for many years and have owned many. This coupe is – pretty. I was tempted to put white wall tires on her – but have not yet done so. All of the chrome is in great shape, the grill is straight and very nice. The bumpers look great also, as the previous owner rechromed everything. The odometer was reset at time of restoration. I do not know the original miles, but post restoration, it doesn’t really matter. The tires look new with no dry rotting at all. The wire wheels are in great shape, but would benefit from a detail. The interior leather is free of wear and tear and looks new. The trunk compartment (boot) was restored also – and the engine compartment, although dusty now, was restored. The head is a correct light green color. I am searching for a set of windshield wiper as the car mysteriously does not have them. Frankly, until i took the pictures, i forgot. They are powerful and torquey and a pleasure to row through the gears. She is ready for the new owner as i must reluctantly sell her to fund my technology company. (startups aren’t easy).

The jaguar xk150 is undeniably one of the world's fastest and safest cars of its era. It is quiet and exceptionally refined mechanically, docile and comfortable... We do not know of any more outstanding example of value for money." - the autocar. This exceptional xk150 was built as a top-of-the-line drophead coupe version and configured for the north american market as a left-hand drive example. It was completed at jaguar's browns lane, coventry works in july of 1958, the xk150 was finished in a stealth black exterior, fitted with a red connolly interior and a black convertible top. The jaguar's first owner is believed to have been a dentist from san mateo, california, which was distributed through jaguar cars of new york. The elegant xk150 was later purchased by a napa, california resident, before being acquired by the third owner, who would keep the car for over two decades. This gentleman began a comprehensive restoration, during which every effort was made to make the xk150 drophead coupe an absolute showstopper. This spectacular car is finished in the period-correct imperial maroon over a biscuit connolly interior and wilton carpets. Xk150 drophead coupe looks incredibly elegant and appropriate. This xk150 still retains its matching numbers engine block, but the cylinder head appears to have been replaced at some point.
