Vin: ly14276this imperial is a complete unrestored car which had been stored in big springs, texas in a carport for over 30 years. Showing milage of 25021 miles believed correct but assumed that it turned over once, and not verifiable. The condition is good. There is minimal surface rust in the usual places. The car is so completely covered in west texas dust that it protected it from getting too much rust. It is in everything including the trunk (see photo). Seats had after market seat covers so seats under would make very good patterns for replacement to original or perhaps can be saved. The car needs a new headliner material. With seats and headliner completed. And a through mechanical overhaul, stop rust and paint, the car could be put back on the road. Definition of mechanical overhaul: major engine service; major transmission service; major brake service and component rebuild; a/c service; all fluid replacement including differential/axle major service. Also needs 5 new tires. I would not do or recommend a body off restoration. The car is very straight and unmolested. I have the original 1958 texas title which is signed over and a bill of sale. Retromobilia@comcast. Net the car speaks for itself and the photos look worse than the car for a change. . I decided not to go forward with the renovation due to interest in other area. Seller's comments and description: 1958 chrysler imperial crown 2 door hardtop; 392/345 hp hemi and torqueflight automatic push-button transmission. Power brakes,power steering,back up lights,windshield washer, quad headlights,this is one of the very few with factory a/c and other options, such as power windows,power door locks,heater,two tone paint,six way power seats,electric touch radio with rear speaker,solex tinted glass,locking gas cap,wide whitewall tires and more. Just too much to list. This is a very original and un-restored car with the exception of one re-paint in it's correct and original colors. The plush leather and brocade fabric interior is immaculate. This car is 1 of only 1,939 produced. Aprox, 635 of these had factory a/c. As per the chrysler imperial registry only 8 known to be in this condition or better. The rest were mostly crushed or donor cars used for restoration of the rare and expensive 1958 chrysler imperial convertibles, as not many parts were available or reproduced for these wonderful and rare iconic automobiles.
