The year is 1966, the beatles, vietnam war raging, social unrest, the country looking for direction. The japanese motorcycle manufactures dominate the market offering high quality machines that are fun to ride. This is truly one of them. I found this yds3c 250cc big bear scrambler on display at a yamaha dealer's showroom in the midwest close to where i grew up. The dealers was a friend of my father. I have owned it 5 years. The bike was up on display on a mezzanine in a climate controlled yamaha showroom for over 35 years and only visible in the showroom with no access to the bike. The title was still in the original owners name. The original owner bought the bike new from his local yamaha dealer. Both the engine and frame numbers match. I know the complete history of the bike and it has not been altered. I am only the second owner. Both frame and engine numbers match. Please see photos reflecting the condition and view them all. The bike is all original, 100%, except for brand new tires and battery. The dealer installed new points and plugs and tuned the bike. I have had it over 5 years and have rode it less than 25 miles. It has 6799 original miles, does not leak a drop of fluid/oil and starts on the first or second kick. Everything works, hi/low beam, tail light and brake light, horn, neutral light, oil injection, speedo and tach, odometer and the seat is basically like new with no tears or blemishes. The badges are original with no cracks. There is no rust, and has one very small low spot in the top area of the tank, hard to notice. The chrome has no rust and is almost like new. Has brand new tires close to the originals. The exhaust and heat shields are excellent and no dents of any kind. I have two keys for both the ignition and steering lock. I recently had the speedo/tach serviced by foreign speedo in san diego, it works perfectly. I also just had a new barnett clutch installed by a professional yamaha vintage mechanic. I runs great and the transmission is super tight. The mileage of 6799 is 100% accurate. Due to some back problems, it is time to let this bike go and let someone ride it and enjoy it! I have over $7450. 00 invested in this bike. As they say, they are only original once.
