First 797 and then 500 viewssummer is slipping now away, but here is a chance to bid on this collectible bike at a lower start price, rather than just to buy it outright at the former top-end start bid price which basically functioned as a "buy it now" price. By the way, this bike does run, and runs perfectly, and could be used. I am just not offering it as transportation primarily. Oh, and thanks for the earlier comments; some of them were great. Apart from two modest road trips and some blacktop country roads riding, this motorcycle had basically been kept in an attached garage, covered, and setting on its stand since it was purchased off the dealer's floor in may of 1973. Original condition, one owner. Color: "candy garnet brown" with a black frame, and the usual chrome embellishments. The operator's manual is included, along with two keys, the tool kit, and the original and never-opened touch-up paint cans containing both and undercoat and a top coat of the wrong color (topaz orange) . Those familiar with this bike will know that the manual contains extensive instructions with photographic illustrations for making carburetor, timing, clutch and chain tension adjustments, as well as fluid changes. The fluid in the front forks will certainly need to be changed. The bike should also be greased. The front disk brake line will also have to be bled and the fluid replaced, as the fluid has congealed with the passage of time. The tires show no wear or damage and look almost new. But please remember that they are 45 years old. Anyone intending to ride this bike on the highway should probably also have a professional motorcycle mechanic carefully give the bike its first ever "tune-up". To just begin to ride it and possibly ruin what is probably a near one-of-a-kind, and virtually mint survivor from that era, through carelessness and nonchalance would be a shame. General condition details, fuel tank: no dents, or scratches through the paint. There is one semi-circular hairline "invisible when wet" scratch on the top of the tank between the seat and the fuel cap: but i'm not going to risk rubbing it out. Gauges and lights: no cracked or yellowed lenses, no burned out bulbs, or faded dials. Pipes: no dents, no damage, no rust. Same with rear shocks and front and rear fenders. Front forks: some mild snowflake-like splotching on forward face of lower forks. See the close-up photo. Frame: gloss black with some minor paint chips low and inside behind the engine on the kick start side only. No paint touching up of any kind has ever been performed. Chrome components: rust free. Cabling: originalother considerations for collectors, gas tank: photo showing the underside of the tank reveals that to be perfect and clear. But as the photos reveal, there is none apparent on the underside whatsoever. Frame, right or kick start side: the small flat area of black paint on the inside base of the frame beneath the tool box, has what looks like a modestly chipped or flaked paint surface which was waxed over and does not rust. This is apparently the result of some minor exposure to dripping battery acid. In addition, the largely hidden matte finish inside area of the rear fender, just behind the motor, shows mild staining from the same effects.

Wow ... 797 views and numerous watchers seen multiplying in real time. Must be a lot of guys selling bike parts on e-bay and tracking the "competition". Lol was quite a show as the view numbers shot up as the bidding deadline drew to a close. Didn't know e-bay could be so entertaining. Anyway, the e-bay software immediately suggested i re-list. By the way, this bike does run, and runs perfectly, and could be used. I am just not offering it as transportation primarily. Oh, and thanks for the earlier comments; some of them were great.
