Seller's comments and description: 1962 flh panhead, with perfect vin, matching cases. Amazing single owner duo-glide with very few reproduction parts. The original 1962 title was unfortunately lost, so the existing title was reissued in 1996. Free and clear title as a 1962 harley davidson. This bike is absolutely incredible and an amazing opportunity to own a piece of motorcycle history. The bike was last started in 1995, but after her husbands death she continued to register the bike until 2000. It was parked in a carport and was not moved until the day i bought it last month. In the 80's, the owner had some of the original parts chromed and it was exhibited at many shows in the greater texas area. The paint is a red pearl, and as far as the owners wife can tell, her husband had both the seat and the paint done by the dealership prior to buying it, which would mean the paint is original. The paint and many chrome parts are very sweaty. When i got the bike, i put in a new battery, changed the oil, cleaned the fuel filter and added a nitrophyl float in the carburetor. The bike started in 3 kicks. I have ridden the bike a total of 60 miles and she is truly amazing. There is no smoother ride than a duo glide panhead. The bike as hydraulic lifters which should probably be rebuilt, and the oil pump gaskets may need to be replaced. The bike ran like a champ and will be an amazing rider for whomever buys this beauty. The speedometer reads 4886, but the speedo is not working. The owner converted the bike to 12v in the 80's, along with a belt drive. The original outer primary cover will be included with the sale of the bike along with the original linkert air cleaner cover and the factory accessory heel shifter that attaches to the back of the foot shifter. The only reproduction parts on the motorcycle that i can see are the cycle electric generator, mallory point breaker, belt drive primary, coil, oil pressure gauge and chrome floorboards. All other parts are original. Some of the wiring has been modified for the 12v system. Some of the paint is starting to bubble up and the seat has some separating happening at the pan. All of these issues just add to the amazing character and patina of the bike. This is a true barn find panhead and has the looks to back it up. This is a very strong running motorcycle and it absolutely flew down the road at freeway speeds. The rear brake will need to be bled, but i rode this motorcycle all around town on both surface roads and freeways using the front brake with no problems. She cruises at high speeds and with the duo glide front fork and swing arm, there is truly no more magnificent a ride. Details job type full-time contact seller.
