Perhaps first year of electric start on Sportsters. All original except peanut gas tank & Corbin saddle. The grandson rode it a few miles, as did I. 1968 XLH Sportster =- NO RESERVE 16,500 original miles, 900 cc, shifter on the right Sold to me by the grandson of original owner (that was his Grandmother– his grandad had an FLH and this was the sporty for the wife, but apparently she put it down at a traffic light and then never rode it again)

Carb is a newer cv sportster model and the whole combination makes for a very agreeable starter. The bike starts cold usually in 2 to 3 kicks, and after i've been riding, it starts in one kick and sometimes before i'm entirely through the stroke.

Seller's Comments and Description: The black chassis parts were matched to the original color and baked by an industrial enamel baker. Aluminum die cast parts were polished then clear coated with semi gloss to resemble the degree of gloss when new. Aluminum media cast parts (engine cases, rocker boxes cam and sprocket covers, magneto and rear motor mount) were treated with a multi step process to look original. This involved phosphoric acid, glass beading and wash with a caustic solution to return these parts to a grey oxide finish. Each of the sub assembly (carburetor, magneto, shocks, instruments, engine components, etc.) were treated as their own restoration. Example, the carburetor has the proper model marking and date code. The body and brass parts were tumble polished. Throughout the bike parts were polished, cad plated or parkerized. Chrome is like it was when new. The complete exhaust system and correct Goodyear tires are NOS. Drive train components (motor, transmission, clutch, brakes, etc.) were restored to new specifications. of engine is in good condition. I stripped the paint off the frame . It had an extended rear swing arm and chain. The frame has been raked and has 6inch over forks. It originally had a 900cc engine on it. I have that engine also
