This is a time capsule one-owner RS originally sold by Freeman's Cycles in Beverly, MA and serviced there until they closed. After taking it in we completed a safety inspection to assess the condition and needs of the bike. Please see the service report section for the disclosure of what this bike will need to get it ready for the road. This is one of those bikes worth investing in as it is in extremely nice condition with no signs of abuse or neglect. The previous owner did all the right things; serviced it, kept it away from harsh conditions when not in use and replaced the stock suspension with Ohlins when the factory suspenders wore out. Stacks of records came to us with the bike which also shows the nature of the previous owner. This bike will need to be loaded on a truck, trailer or delivered since it will not pass a NH state inspection. The only known issues are a broken tab on the right saddlebag where it mounts to the bike. I have it wired on, which looks a bit cobbly, but it holds the bag secure. I am also including a Marsee tank bag, taller windscreen and a Haynes shop manual.

This is the 1995 bmw r1100rs raced by the late grand national campion gary nixon (triumph 1967, 68) the in bmw battle of the legends series in 1996 & 1997, signed by the late campion, gary nixon. The legend's race ran from 1992-1997, racing legends commissioned by bmw raced on identically prepared bmw motorcycles at ahrma races in daytona, loudon, sears point and lexington. This is the 1995 bike, the actual bike raced by gary nixon in 1996 and 1997. Gary nixon tied the series with jay springsteen in 96, with springsteen being declared the winner but nixon won the series outright in 1997 on this bike. The series was cancelled after 1997 after racer roger reiman died in practice. This bike, which had been sold to a bmw dealership, had non-original yellow wheels and aftermarket remus exhaust but was recently returned to it's former racing form by hermy's bmw, an authorized bmw dealer. The bike is now as it was raced by gary nixon except for any safety wire, different tires and a smoke windscreen. The bike itself is in perfect running condition and recently serviced. Bmw promotional race video (vhs and dvd) of this bike in action (1996) and documentary book included, (which confirms the vin and ridership). The bike is featured on page 47, the appendix and throughout the book and video.
