Has been restored by professional Ariel Collector. The engine frame and gear box match but some of the other parts are from different year Ariel. The bike runs excellent. It does have small leak on carburetor. Speedo and tach are not hooked up. But everything else works. There are no dings or dents but a few chips on paint here and there. However still looks fantastic. Details ConditionYear: Used 1957 Contact Seller.
The front brake is the later A-10 hub, so I know that is not orig. I’m not sure if any of the sheet metal is original but I do believe the tank is original 450 Miles

Same owner for over 30 years!1952 Ariel Square Four Engine Number: TM835 Frame Number: SV812 In 1928, engineer Edward Turner was shopping a new motorcycle design to English manufacturers. S new design had two vertical twins sharing a common crankcase. The cylinder barrels were cast as a unit in a monobloc design. Their two crankshafts were joined by a flywheel and rotated in opposite directions.
In xxxx, engineer edward turner was shopping a new motorcycle design to english manufacturers. Bsa turned him down, but ariel was interested. S new design had two vertical twins sharing a common crankcase. The cylinder barrels were cast as a unit in a monobloc design. Their two crankshafts were joined by a flywheel and rotated in opposite directions. By having the two pistons of one crank at top and bottom dead center and the pistons of the second shaft at half stroke, the design was ingeniously compact and the firing order made it practically vibration free. Overhead camshafts and unit construction were well into the future for most firms, so ariel was a real pioneer. Few knew then that the bike would become a legend of the british industry, both for its performance and dependability.
It looks to be a 1952, but is titled as a 1953. This bike runs, shifts, stops and rides wonderful. The bike has nice power and it is smooth. It looks to be original paint, but i am not guaranteeing it. The bike is pretty rare in the usa. Details job type full-time contact seller.

The engine was essentially a pair of 'across frame' OHC parallel twins joined by their geared central flywheels, with a four-cylinder block (or Monobloc) and single head. Seller's Comments and Description: At this time he was looking for work, showing drawings of his engine design to motorcycle manufacturers

The engine was rebuilt by notable Ariel mechanic now with less than 100 miles on it. The transmission was rebuilt with all fresh running gear. Since I have owned it, it has undergone a complete frame off restoration (finished 4 years ago) Classic / Vintage✔ Belt Transmission
Have had it for 10 years now but unfortunately I am losing my hearing and with that goes my equilibrium so I can no longer ride her safely.
