Vin number #33910 - all gauges and electrical are functional. All cylinders 160-170 psi - overdrive shifts smoothly. Please call 425-736-3888 with any questions or to make an offer. Located in tarzana,california (near los angeles)this 1971 volvo 1800e was originally sold new in wa state and is still a documented 1 owner car with the title being from 71'. The previous owner stated they mostly drove it on the weekends and short trips. It's in very original condition with only one respray in the 80's. The current paint on this 1800e was resprayed in the 80's in correct volvo paint code 102. The brightwork on this 1800e is very nice with no signs of pitting, rust, dings or dents. There is a small ding in the lower front chrome surround. Glass looks to be original. All glass on this 1800e is great, no leaks, no cracks or any chips. The chrome around the windows are all in great original shape. The interior on this 1800e is in very good original condition. There are some cracking in the front drivers seats but overall the interior is in amazing original condition. All electrical is in working order excepts for the clock and original radio. The ac blows cold along with the heater and fan operating as they should. The generator light does stay on when in lower rpm's. The door panels and headliner do show some age but overall in great shape with no tears or rips. The stock b20 has great compression with all cylinders between 160-170. Overdrive functions as it should with a switch activated on the dash. This is a very strong running car, its would probably need a tune up and a maintenance checkup before any long road trips but the engine has great pull with no hesitation, its does not burn oil. Two of the tires seem to lose pressure after a few weeks. See video link below of it running & driving. All the floor jacking cup points are intact. The cross members look great and there's no rust at all on the floors. The gas tank is clean with no signs of any rust. Loved and enjoyed by both owners. Original motor is strong and runs well. The manual 4 speed transmission is great. Radio doesn't work, yet has a cool working a/c system. Volvo's early history is mainly known for making sturdy sedans like the pv544 and 122 amazon, and in the 50's played around with developing a sports and in 1961 the volvo p1800 was introduced. An italian inspired design by volvo and designer helmer petterson. In 1970, the 1800e came with updates and design changes, including a new instrument panel and bosch electronic fuel injection (one of the first production cars to use this system). ---- this p1800e was originally purchased new in st louis by it's original owner (pilot and engineer) that was stationed at nasa in houston tx. The car was used as a daily commuter for many years. A complete fuel/miles log book was kept by the original owner. In the early 90's the car was purchased by the niece (a lawyer) of the original owner and was used as a daily local commuter car. In more recent years the car has been used less frequently. Mechanicals: the strong and smooth running motor is the original motor (not rebuilt). Even with 163,000 the motor doesn't burn any oil between oil changes. The fuel injection system works great. The car shifts smoothly and easily. Working air conditioning. Exterior: steel blue metallic - a decent older paint. The vehicle has been repainted twice over the years. The body is very solid and straight, yet has some small nicks and light dings. Front glass has some wiper blade wear scuffs. Interior: the interior is clean and comfortable. Nice condition seats and carpet. The dash pad has some cracks which is expected for it's age. Other items to note: car comes with a set of factory volvo service manuals, original owners manuals and some service receipts. The car is fun to drive, and it gets a lot of attention. All vintage volvos are special, but the p1800 are being recognized as one of the more special models.
