1973 Volkswagen Thing - Greenwood, ARNow and Then Fine AutomobilesGreenwood, AR 72936Ph: 4792526241Web: www. nowandthenfineautomobiles.comOptions:Description:Just in is a very nice 1973 Volkswagen Thing. This car has recently been through an amateur restoration. The body was removed, floor pans replaced, and undercoated. The engine was professionally rebuilt and has about 300 miles on it since rebuild. There are many new parts, and some extra parts as well. The paint is definitely an amateur job, it has a lot of orange peeling and a few runs, but looks fantastic from about 10 feet away. The front seats have been repadded and recovered. The restoration is in my opinion about 85% complete, with the wipers and a few other items not yet installed. Any rust has been completely removed and the area repaired. There are not a bunch of rust blisters everywhere as is common to these cars. The car does not currently have a top but I have ordered a new top frame and top, one installed the top will raise the price 1500 to $10,495. All the valuation sites value a Thing in this condition at $15,000 , but we bought it right so we can sell it right.

Seller's comments and description: remarkable example of an original, low mileage, unmolested, rust/accident free vw thing. Vw things were only offered in the u. For two years (1973 and 1974). The car spent most of its life in southern california and has been in a private collection in a heat and humidity controlled building ever since. It is a completely original example with mostly original paint, interior and drivetrain. Even the perforated rubber floor mats and seat belts are original. The car has recently had its top replaced and new tires installed. The side curtains with storage bags are original and the car comes with the original gas heater. An under dash working radio appears to have been installed when new. The car starts, runs and drives extremely well.

1973 volkswagen thing - beverly, mabeverly farms motorsbeverly, ma 01915ph: 9789272521web: www. Runs well, has been a reliable driver over the past summer. This is a great beach car and it get all sorts of attention everywhere it goes. This vehicle is best suited for an adventurous enthusiast, or someone interested in a good restoration piece. It has side windows, the gas heater unit in the front compartment, orginal stereo and instrumentation and seats. Vehicle does not come with soft top but we can add a new one for an additional$1200. Restored, these vehicle have values in the upper teens. We think this car is best traded as original. The car's design was initially created for use as a world war ii multipurpose vehicle in the german federal army. In the german army, the vehicle was called a kübelwagen ("bucket car"), but for public registration purposes, it was officially renamed by vw as "thing." outside of the united states, it was also called the safari, the trekker and the type 182. This car was the ultimate "surfer car" when released. Shown by appointment. AM/FM
