This is a very clean 1981 rabbit. Perfect for a restoration project. I bought it because of the minimal body work needed. The car has straight lines, a couple spots of surface rust, and a dent or two. I'm sad to be selling it. Soon after i purchased the car my transmission went out on my truck. I need to sell so that i may pay for my truck. The vehicle is in decent shape. Pros: really clean body minimal surface rust (2 spots) new tires run and drives recently fixed all the door handles. Rear hatch hydrolic works great exterior lights & blinkers work interior is in great condition for the age of the vechicle cons: needs new shocks. (that was my first planned project) engine could use some tlc. Interior lights don't work radio turns on but i believe it just needs new speakers. Driver rear window roller is off, i have the roller with the vehicle. Needs headliner overall this is a great project car. It is not perfect but such a fun cool car to have. I'm sad to see it go but need the money. Contact is best in the evenings after 6.

Vehicle has about 148,000 miles, STILL GETS ABOUT 50 mpg hwy and 40 mpg off hwy, it has SMALL rust and small holes on the fenders (one hole by the antenna) and below back bumper, there is surface rust elsewhere - NO RUST ON INTERIOR FLOOR. As stated has newly rebuilt injector pump, new glow plugs, new valves, starts and runs good, FACTORY A/C not currently running but ran two years ago needs recharge, Car had engine rebuilt/replaced in 1992 due to belt break, I have a sp. Vehicle was purchased at Lee Klinger VW on 6121 Northwest Hwy, Chicago, Illinois new on 7/11/81 Air Conditioning

Interior like new with gti front seats upholstered in leather with new foam padding, new carpeting. Body professionally painted in vw cashmere white using 2 stage spies hecker polyurethane paint. Converted to round headlights with euro bumpers.
