The engine was removed during that same time, allowing for all other major parts to be checked and repaired as necessary, like the crankshaft bearings and seals were replaced and all additonal interimaintenence was preformed. Also, new brakes and several other minor repairs were professionally done at the same shop. I'm selling this car because I just don't have time to enjoy it anymore. Thirty five years plus, with this love of my life ... its time now for my wife. In 2000 (or 8,000 miles ago) the clutch was replaced also with the rear main seal was converted to a modern neoprene seal

The body is very straight and shows no signs of damage. Doors, hood, fenders and trunk fit wonderfully. The glass is original and the chrome and bright work is in amazing shape for their age. The interior is a real time capsule. The leather seats show no rips or tears and look great. The wood dash is original and in excellent condition. The steering wheel is crack free. The door cards, carpet and trunk area are in outstanding shape as well. The cars gauges work as they should, the radio turns on but does not play. The soft top was replaced in 1974. The 2138 cc motor runs, starts every time and runs like a swiss watch. The engine bay is clean and tidy and it is clear that it has run this way since new. The transmission shifts smoothly and the car is a pleasure to drive in town and at highway speeds. Braking is excellent and the car has nearly new michelin tires and spare. Recent completely rebuilt engine by local specialist (approx 100 miles ago, invoice available), reconditioned carburetors, new generator bracket, new hoses, new wheel bearings, new wheels and tires, new front and rear wheel studs,fully adjustable miata seats with machined billet adapter brackets (fantastic upgrade!), new floors, new trunk floor, newer gas tank, newer carpets, new steering wheel, new battery, improved clutch release assembly. Top frame assembly is not attached but is functional and included without the vinyl top. Any rust has been removed, and the frame and underpinnings are solid. Rocker panel fit and door latches function but are imperfect. Car has current california registration. Original wheels, hubcaps, steering wheel included with car. Not interested in trades. Not very often does someone keep a car for 50 years. This incredible 1964 triumph tr-4 was bought new at university triumph wa in june of 1964. It was adored and lovingly cared for more than 50 years by william weiss until he sadly died in late 2014during that half a century of loving ownership william put only 68,000 original miles on the car. Other than driving to and from shipping trucks all of the original 68,000 miles have been put on this car by william. William's wife struggled with what to do with the car and decided to put it up for sale. She realized that william would have wanted it to be lovingly owned by a new a family who would take care of it and appreciate it. She sold the car to a local dealer (brad hallock) who recognized how special this car truly was in february 2015. It is now time to find it a good home and tell its great story in accordance with william's wishes. The car comes with amazing documentation and maintenance records since new as well as a letter from the previous owner's wife certifying the cars original miles. Though obviously loved this tr-4 was definitely driven by william. The car was driven on family trips and to work on good days. William's wife confirmed that the car was never raced although during the first 6 years of its life, william did attend various scca races as a spectator where he displayed the car. He proudly made record of this on a metal display in the trunk. The car came from the factory in the very rare black over black leather interior combination. Please see the attached triumph heritage certificate. William did give the car a high quality repaint some point in its life. Otherwise this car is completely original and looks amazing.
