History studebaker was an american wagon and automobile manufacturer based in south bend, indiana. Founded in 1852 and incorporated in 1868 under the name of the studebaker brothers manufacturing company, the company was originally a producer of wagons for farmers, miners, and the military. Public reaction is what matters in the auto industry, and "the next look" 1950 studebaker, featuring the company's signature "bullet-nose" look for the first time, was a winner, more popular than even the 1947. Sales began in august 1949, nearly a month ahead of other 1950 cars. The 1950 models were studebaker's most successful in terms of sales. Hundreds of dealers sent glowing telegrams describing announcement day: "showroom crowded to capacity." "public acceptance best ever." "huge crowds, all agreed studebaker still leads the way." "showing a definite flop, showroom holds 100 people, needed room for 500!" for all this hoopla, the 1950s were identical to the 1947-49 models except for the bullet nose, minor trim, and vertical instead of horizontal tail lights features & options the 1950 studebaker we have at skyway classics is a bright red model with a red and white vinyl covered front bench seat and rear seat, as well as the door panels. The body also has a front windshield visor painted to match. All the trim, both exterior and interior, is in great shape. The dash has all the correct gauges and the column mounted three-speed transmission shifter. The champ's included stainless-steel rocker-panel and window moldings, wool upholstery in place of pile cloth, front floor carpeting instead of a rubber covering, and a fancier steering wheel with chrome horn half-ring. The champion came with great tires on red painted five-inch-wide wheels with braking provided by nine-inch drums. All 1950 studebakers boasted a new double-a-arm front suspension, with champions featuring tubular shocks mounted inside new "long-travel" coil springs. Champs used an anti-roll torsion bar in front. The 169. 9 cu in i6 engine produced 85 horsepower in 1950 and this one we have looks just like it did when it was new. Exhaust flows out the rear with its single tail pipe. Skywayclassics. Com/blog.

This vehicle is a 1940 Studebaker Commander. It has been fully restored and customized inside an out. The car has a mopar 383 engine (bored to 400) that was completely rebuilt and runs excellent. The transmission is a 727 torqueflite and the rear axle is a GM 10 bot with 3.08 gears. The front suspension was all replaced and can be adjusted up or lower. The interior was professionally restored with gray tweed cloth seats and custom door panels, headliner, finish panels and carpet. It has a tilt column, power windows, power door latches (with inside and outside access switches) power trunk release and more. The dash has full custom gauges and a CD stereo mounted underneath. The restoration was done several years ago on what was a clean body and chassis to start with. The car has 31k miles on since the complete resto and it still looks fantastic inside and out. The vented hood side panels were also restored and are included with the car. The car starts, runs and drives excellent. For all the car shows I have been to over the years I never see any like it. I would consider a trade for a new muscle era car or a truck / dump truck of equal value.$22,000330.868.8033Jeff. Power Windows
