This 1965 porsche 356sc cabriolet was built very late in the model run, april 12, 1965. It was reportedly sold new in the seattle, washington area and remained there until 2015 when it was sold to a well-known dealer of vintage porsches located in north carolina. At the time of sale, this porsches owner delivered the car to a reputable shop in bellevue, washington where it was fully inspected, serviced and had numerous items addressed. The car was later sold to a porsche collector in fairbanks, alaska and it remained there in climate controlled storage until being purchased by european collectibles. During his ownership, about 700 miles were added to the odometer. Once at european collectibles, the porsche was assessed for mechanical fitness and deemed to be in good working order. The signal red paintwork was done some years ago and shows very well with only minor imperfections. The grey leather interior and black convertible top are in very nice condition. The floors were original and solid, but needed refinishing, so they were stripped and recoated in house. The engine, which has very good compression, is original to the car as the factory numbers stamping matches the coa and kardex. The transaxle is not original as this 356 was original delivered with a limited slip differential that was traded at some point for a smoother operating standard unit. New tires were just fitted to a completely matched set of original wheels (all five are dated 9/64). This is a great looking and nice driving 356sc cabriolet from the end of production and is complete with a tool kit, tonneau cover, matching spare tire jack, lug wrench and owner's manual. With prices for nearly perfect sc cabriolets exceeding $300,000 we think this driver is excellent value.

1965 Porsche 356 SC Chassis number 220120 engine number 812977transmission number 82562 Matching numbers per ORIGINAL title fromBrumosPorsche and Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche. Full enginedisassembly cleaning inspection and rebuild including new mainbearings measuring standard crank/standard case; heads weretotallydisassembled and rebuilt with new valves and guides; engine hasnew Reinz gasket and seals installed; powder coated engine tin andheater flapperboxes which are fully connected and functional. Enginewas run on on an engine test stand outside of the vehicle where timingand carbadjustment valve last was set. Oil pressure gauge was mountedon engine and showed 25 lbs at idle and 40-55 lbs when engine wasrevved. All prior paint on the car was stripped and car was broughtdown to the metal (please see link below with photo album depictingtherestoration). The closing panels are pristine and one can see thespot welds all the way up into the inside of the fenders. New installation of Stoddard floors jackspurs and battery box. Longitudinals are original to the car. Even gapsthroughout engine lid and hood close evenly. Doors close with a nicethunk . One personcommented that they sound like a bank vault doorwhen they are being closed. Car was color matched through a WillhoitTogo Brown color sample. Interior color was changed from black tored. Full transmission removal disassembly inspection and then resealedtopped off with new fluid. Clutch is excellent and the transmissionpullswell through all 4 forward gears with no problems whatsoever gearshifts are smooth and clean reverse works perfectly. Gauges worktemperaturegauge works oil pressure light and e-brake lights work turnsignals brakes headlights low and high beam running lights all work. Radio andclock are not currently working. New Chrome throughout windowframes bumperettes lights wheels and hubcaps.4 date stamped wheels8/64. Rechromed and balanced after installing new Continental185/55x15 ContiProContact tires. Rebuilt brake calipers newKoni Redshocks freshly turned rotors repacked wheel bearings with new wheelseals. The brakes are excellent! New AutosInternational interior new carpets new headliner new body rubber sealsnew glass windshield and rear window rubber seal newwindshield andrear window aluminum molding. New door seals and furry strips and ventwindow rubber; all window frames were fully disassembledand sent offto be rechromed and then painstakingly reassembled with the correctscrews bolts and nuts.
