The light blue and white "panda car" is a police icon in the uk. So while the classic design of the morris minor helped put england on wheels, this one represents what happened if those wheels violated the law. This is a proper minor with the correct wheel covers, badging, and trim. Plus, it really looks the part of authority correctly with its gumball light on top, crisp police badging, and cheeky "panda 1" marking on the roof. This one needs to look authentic, because it was used during the long-running uk television show heartbeat as well as part of the comedy special the hunt for tony blair. Inside, the light blue continues on the seats, carpeting, and dash. As a true british machine, this is a right-hand drive vehicle, and the classic morris steering wheel with "m" badge in the middle is positively charming. But even without all the patrol car fun, this is a nice classic to drive. That's the unmistakable sign of an a-series motor. The engine is a well-known and widely used power plant that found a home in plenty of british vehicles. It's the backbone of english motoring, which makes it quite robust and there's easy parts availability. AM/FM

Purchased by the current owner (an international morris minor enthusiast) in 2001 with only 44,000 original miles. This morris was delivered new to california and has been sparingly driven and garage kept here ever since. A rust free, currently registered and titled, california car. The car comes complete with its heritage certificate. From cold this morris minor starts right up with a pull of the choke and as it comes to temp it settles into a nice smooth idle. The steering is light and responsive, and the gearbox feels excellent as to be expected of a car with only 46,000 original miles. The clutch pedal has a low pick up point which indicates a healthy clutch. The brake pedal feels great, and the handbrake holds very well. The suspension is dry and some bushes creak a little as is common with these cars, however this morris is very mechanically sound. The exterior is original paint - old english white with red pin stripping. The paint is in decent condition considering its age. There are small blemishes to the paint and overall, i would give it a 7 out of 10. It certainly could be buffed out to a better shine if desired. The chrome trim and hardware is complete and in good condition. The front and rear chrome bumpers are undamaged and look great. This car shows no sign of ever being in any kind of accident, front or rear. All glass is clear without chipping or cracking to be seen, however there are a few small scratches to the glass on the drivers’ side window. The rubber seals are in good condition and though they are quite hard they are not crumbling to pieces, and they are all in place. The exterior electrical is all functional from headlight to tail light. The indicators self-cancel and the dip switch is also working. The convertible top has been replaced once and easily goes up and down as it should. The top is ripped in a few places, and could use a patch job by a good upholsterer. The boot cover is also original and included in the sale, however we could not seem to fit it correctly as some of the snaps may have been changed when the top was replaced. This morris sits upon 4 good michelin tires with “m” crested hub caps. The trunk space is tidy and complete with spare tire and tool roll. The interior is also original and cherokee red in color. The front seats are in excellent condition and the back seat is also very nice despite one small hole that looks to have been the unfortunate result of a cigarette burn – how we miss the 60’s with all that smoking! The seats fold forward easily and the red carpeting throughout is very nice and tidy. The drivers and passengers side floors have morris minor crested black mats that suit the car perfectly. Even the sun visors are in good shape and the metal dash is excellent. The storage under the glovebox compartments could use recovering but that’s just being nitpicky. The speedo and fuel gauge work properly and all interior electrical is functional from the windshield wipers to the push horn. This morris minor in my opinion is bmc at its best and i only wish there were more of these british classics around. There are probably very few moggy’s like this left. As always, i would advise inspecting the car in person if at all possible, it will not disappoint. Engine is the best fitted, a 1100cc unit connected to a semi close ratio rib case transmission. Likewise, transmission has good synchromesh, doesn't rattle, clutch grabs perfectly. Both are excellent, 135 psi compression in every cylinder, no smoke, no oil leaks, quiet running, and far more powerful and flexible than the more common 948cc engine
