With initial factory ratings of 287 horsepower and289 lb. of torque, the Evo IX was capable of sub-4.5 second 0-60 times andhigh 12s in the quarter mile. A timing belt and water pump change was performedin 2012 due to common “bracket rub,” which was remedied with an updated OEMpart. No outstanding mechanical issues are present according to the seller, andthe engine bay remains clean with its factory strut brace.

The 2. 0l short block is built for 1000hp with oliver ultra light rods and wiseco hd 10. 5:1 pistons. Holding the fully built heads down are arp l19 head studs. The head does contain gsc s2 cams, gsc beehive springs and ti retainers, port and polish and supertech 1mm oversize valves with bronze guides. Supplying the boost on this build is a extremepsi/jm fab turbo kit with a precision 6266 gen 2 turbo. For ignition the car has the coil on plug conversion by spoolin up. The clutch is a very nice hydraulic exedy triple carbon disc and the transmission paired with this engine is a gsr 5-speed so it can actually hold the power unlike the original mr 6-speed.
