1974 MG Midget. This is the more desireable chrome bumper version of the Midget series. Car has been restored with new paint, tires and brakes, gas tank and fuel pump, weber carburetor, clutch master and slave cylinders, convertibe top, seat belts and many smaller items such as turn signal and windshield wiper controls, door locks, etc. Majority of electrical connectors have been replaced. I don't know if the factory radio works.. I have retained the original carburetors and radio for the purist. Carburetors had a problem one of the floats sticking so I replaced with a weber carburetor, but I understand these have rebuild kits available

Convertible season is upon us and this little British Midget should be the answer for a fun summer cruiser. With just over 225k Midget's produced from 1961 to 1979. One of the most beloved and best-selling models that ever rolled off the company's assembly line in Abingdon, England was the MG Midget. And for most roadster enthusiasts, MG was the most creative for offering them in fun and affordable packages. The simple yet classic design combination of a two-seat roadster with a small engine and a manual transmission was nothing more than a enthusiast dream. Along with the sale of this vehicle comes with a bunch of receipts that reflect the care and love it was given. This vehicle was serviced by the well-known University Motors in Grand Rapids, Michigan under the care of John Twist, master MG mechanic. The car just recently received a complete lubrication job and it is ready for the open road. The car is finished in red over a brown vinyl interior. The car shows well for its age. The car comes with a rear convertible boot, chrome luggage rack, chrome front and rear bumpers, jack and spare tire, Sony speakers in the rear of the car and an aftermarket CD player. The interior remains in great shape with no cracks in the dash. CD Player

Vin # GAN5UE140027 GEngine Tag #: 12V/671Z/L125Evolve Motors & Chicago Car Club are pleased to present this 1974 MG Midget! Exterior:We really like these pre-impact-bumper MGs. The small, chrome bumpers really do wonders for the car’s looks. Silver paint shows very nicely, and has a great metallic sparkle to it. However, there are a couple dings just ahead of both doors, from the door being swung open too far and making contact with the body. Black convertible top is in excellent shape, with no damage or visible wear. All chrome pieces – door handles, bumpers, mirrors, light trim, badges, etc, are in great shape, with no oxidation or damage. All lights and glass are clear and crack-free. Wire wheels are in decent shape, there’s no damage but they do show their age a bit. Overall, the car is in nice, driver-level condition. Interior:Tan interior looks great against the silver exterior. Condition is consistent throughout the interior – not damaged, but showing its age a bit by way of slight fading. The tan color of the door panels looks to be slightly off from that of the seats. Leather-wrapped dash in in very nice shape, with just a couple little hairline cracks in the leather. Black carpets appear close-to-new throughout. All gauges, lights, and signals are functional. The car will come with a black leather tonneau cover and boot cover. Odometer reads 48,966, true mileage unknown. There are remains of a protective sealant towards the front of the frame rails and the front floors. Please see underbody photos. Overall, the car is structurally sound but not perfect. On the road, the car feels quite good. It fires right up without fault, idles cool and steady, and pulls through the gears with no stuttering or hesitation. Clutch grabs as it should, and there are no noises or tendencies of concern when rolling over speedbumps or cornering. Tires should be replaced before becoming a routine driver, as the rears show some dry rot, but the car does run and drive nicely. As it sits, this would make for a great top-down summer cruiser. The 1275cc motor, which was actually a slightly detuned version of the original Mini Cooper S motor, only makes about 55hp, but with its light weight, short wheelbase, and rev-happy nature, the car is an absolute blast to drive. LOL. I have a good portion of the stock/original parts (and information) that I took off the car and there is an additional low mileage Datsun 5-speed transmission included in the parts bins. It has 3 little rust spots on it, so body work will need to be. When I bought the car in Provo, Utah, about 3 1/2 years ago, it was all stock, except for an electric fuel pump

Original period correct Formula GT wooden steering wheel from Britain looks fantastic and is in great condition.
