Up for sale is an excellent example of a 1952 Mercury Monterey 2 door hardtop. The car has just over 85,000 miles. After years of searching for my perfectclassic car I finally found this dream boat in Moreno Valley California in 2003. It was love at first sight. The car was rust free and solid and it immediatelyhad a place in my heart and garage. In 2005 I had the car completely repainted byConnecticut's well renowned auto body guru (Jerry W). At that time I alsoinstalled 5 new Firestone bias whitewall tires. From there I proceeded to removeand re chrome every piece of trim on the entire car, or show polish thestainless. In addition I had the radio rebuilt, installed a new clutch, brakes,water pumps (2), starter, generator, battery, points & plugs, wipers, ect -allof this has less than 4000 miles. I believe this is the original 255 engine inthe car and she runs and drives like a gem. The interior as well is all originalgreen with white Naugahide upholstery and green carpets. I have a new workingclock that goes with the car along with owners manual and spec sheet and a lotof receipts as well. On a rating scale , I would give the paint a solid 9 andthe chrome a 9.5 Over the past 15 years I have taken her to a hand full of carshows, parades and events and always turned heads and struck up. 1952 Mercury Monterey Presenting an original ’52 Monterey. This was the first year the Monterey was offered as a convertible. The sheetmetal, floors and frame are all in great condition. Solid from top to bottom. This particular car was displayed in a museum for several years before beingtreated to a mechanical refresh. Under the hood is a 255 CI Mercury flatheadV8, combined with a Merc-O-Matic automatic transmission. This car has a in-dash clock and push button radio,chrome windshield frame and beltline trim, and both front and rear guards. Onthe outside are front driving lights, classic full size wheel covers, ad widewhitewall tires. Lakewood Green Paint with a Green Top. Boot green leatherinterior and white inserts, Aircraft-style lever controls for theheater/defroster and ventilation controls. 110 MPH speedometer, temperature,fuel, oil, and battery gages all located in the dash. The new model Montereywas part of Ford's company-wide redesign project. The Monterey became its ownmodel in 1952, one year after its initial introduction. It was produced with ataller and more squared shape than the 1949-51 Ford and Mercury models. Thiswas the most expensive Monterey available in 1952, priced at $2,370. TheMonterey’s tasteful styling features a full width front grille, quarter panelbright trim, and imitation front and body side intake grilles.

Since Spring 2016 the following has been done-NEW Radiator,NEW Fuel Pump,NEW Fuel Line,NEW Gas Tank,ALL NEW Brakes (steel and flex lines,wheel cylinders,shoes & master cylinder),NEW Exhaust Pipe,NEW Muffler,NEW Tail Pipe,NEW Tires and last week a NEW Convertible Top (with new tacking strips and new pads). As I bought the car,it has a 1957 Ford 292 V-8 which is driveable but the carburetor needs to be rebuilt since it does not idle very well due to running too rich. Converted to 12 Volt with a NEW Battery,NEW Neutral Safety Switch,NEW Alternator,NEW Horns,NEW Horn Relay and all NEW Bulbs,etc
