It has the 4 cylinder 2. 2 ltr turbo type 910 engine with 5-speed manual transmission. In 1989, the esprit was improved with the gm multi-port, electronic fuel injection system. The engine has 215 hp and is rated to go from zero to sixty in 5. 4 seconds and can reach top speed around 150mph. With only 1,562 produced, this sports car definitely fits in the rare category. The engine was completely rebuilt in 2004 by tony richards of autobahn exotics, who is generally regarded as the best lotus mechanic in the dallas-ft. All of the work was done meticulously and to factory specs. Detailed documentation and receipts of the rebuild is available. A new a/c compressor and headlight motor was also installed. It has only been driven 3,000 miles since the rebuild and the car also just had a complete full service with new timing belt, new front calipers, brake pads, plugs, plug wires, new clutch line and a fresh oil change. It is loaded with all the options such as power windows, power locks, power steering, 4-wheel disc power brakes, air conditioning, flip up head lights, power mirrors, center console, alloy wheels, removable sunroof, fog lights and power antenna. The sound system is a current alpine am/fm cd stereo. The original interior is in great condition with the door panels, carpet, headliner all looking great. The dash gauges, clock and lights are all operational and the a/c blows cold air. The leather seat cushions have small splits in the leather seam from normal usage. The 235/60r15 dunlop tires are like new. We have all receipts and documentation dating back to 1997 and it has a clean carfax report. We can coordinate shipping anywhere. This car is ready to drive!
