Own a piece of south african history! It was used as a farm vehicle for 40 years on an interior farm with low to no humidity and restored in suburban johannesburg. There is little to no rust on the body and minimal rust on the suspension/leafsprings. We have repair records, title, registration and all import documents at the ready. In order to import the car, the original engine and chassis number had to match that assigned in the factory, therefore, the car has the original engine. The car is roadworthy (shown on the import docs) and was driven to the export point. After being exported to the states, we discovered a gas leak in the underside of the tank and it will need to be replaced (tanks cost approximately $200. 00), however, the car will start and run. The car has new tires with newly-painted rims, a safari double-skinned roof, and is right-hand drive. There is seating for 7-9 with a bench seat in front.
These old Rovers are known to rust. We can send via request several undercarriage shots to show that this Rover is RUST FREE. Parts known to have rust problems, such as the spring hangers have all been replaced. All floorpans are as solid as they were when new. All gauges work properly. All mechanics have been checked and gone through as needed. 4-speed manual with overdrive, 2 wheel and 4-wheel drive with locking free wheeling hubs. All glass in is great shape as is all chrome parts. The body was re-painted in the correct Willow Green with Ivory just because the former owner thought the paint was getting a little dull. Interior is in immaculate condition and looks like new. The 2.25L inline 4-cylinder petrol engine runs great and the transmission shifts properly. We know most of the history of this Rover. Has been owned by a collector here in North Carolina since August, 2000 and we understand he moved here from Hawaii and owned it there for several years. Always garaged in heated and air conditioned building. In addition, the old Rovers in this shape are appreciating, which makes this and excellent investment.
