We believe that this 1974 jensen-healey roadster likely underwent at least a partial restoration at some point in its life. �it does show moderate wear to the paint with some small dents/dings, but the panels do line up nicely all the way around and the top aligns properly. �the interior is also very clean with a nice patina to the leather seating and typical wear to the dash, the carpeting and the steering column. �it appears that everything is here for the next owner if they are considering a full restoration. Bought in '75 by a guy in southern california. He lived in the same house from before '75 until he died in dec 2016. The car was always stored under a cover in his garage. We found it this may in the garage under the cover. It had not been driven since '04. His 85+ year old wife had it registered in '16 (do not know why). It comes with a true "pink" slip (it is actually pink), it comes with the original jensen motor ltd. West bromwich, staffs, england manufacturer's guarantee paper work and original owner's handbook and service voucher book. Odometer shows some 31k miles on it... Do not if it is correct or not... The speedometer workswe put air in the tires, new gas in the tank, a new battery in it and it started right up. We drove it around the block. The brakes worked, the instruments all work, the clutch works. The tires have flat spots in them, so the ride is a little lumpy. Never seen one before. Comes with the engine timing belt cover... Very rarecomes with a spare tire with all of its tread on it... Original???(perhaps/probably... Did not remove and inspect)this is a fantastic car for a jensen healey lover. Think for a minute how rare this car is: one owner, at the same california address for over 40 years, stored in a garage, bought at conway british (san diego), all the original stuff on it, five speed, running. This car is rare and cool but it nothing like new or perfect. It was not found in a museum; it was probably the guy's daily driver for some time, so it has all the wear and bruises from its age. It is a very unusual car.

Interior is in very good condition, top was re stitched. Timing belt replaced, intake and exhaust were port matched, header is wrapped, constructed a pcv system so no more seal leakage. Alt, carbs,brake master, radiator rebuilt, cold air intake, pertronix ignition, speedo replaced [ it bounced and was saved ] car has 66,000 miles. Have extra photos if it helps. There are a lot of parts that go with the auto starts and runs fantastic, will need outer rocker work.

It’s rare and interesting enough to be welcome at shows, but it’s not quite a show-quality finish. Black paint has its fair share of rock chips up front. Many of the chips have been touched up but are still visible. The body itself is in really nice shape; there’s a light ding on the driver side rear quarter, which looks like a broom handle fell on it. Chrome is free of oxidation and has a nice shine to it. All glass is clear and crack-free. All lights and signals are functional and crack-free. Convertible top is in excellent shape; this car will come with a convertible top, a zip-up interior cover, and bras for both front fenders, so that the car can be worked on under the hood without scratching or dirtying the fenders. Interior: the interior is nice and simple. Seats are comfortable and in pretty good shape, with just a couple cracks on the outside of the drivers seat. Dash is in great shape and all gauges are functional. Interior fan blows, though neither hot nor cold. Carpets are in nice shape, as are the door panels. Doors open and close without any fuss. Original radio is present but not functional. Steering wheel is in nice shape and has a great grip to it. Under the hood / underbody: this is where this car really shines. The car will idle steady and cool all day. It’s a very confidence-inspiring driver; the car feels planted through the corners and stable at speed. It’s pretty peppy too, with 144hp on tap and weighing in at only 2,400lbs. Carbs are stromberg 175 cd-2 units. It’ll do 0-60 in a very respectable 7. 8 seconds, which is only a fraction of a second off the times of the porsche 911 and jaguar e-type of the same vintage. The car stops well, with discs up front and drums out back, and doesn’t hook in either direction. Clutch grabs as it should. From a mechanical standpoint, this car is well sorted. The previous long-term owner was an engineer and enthusiast, and i have a number of service receipts from his ownership as well as the original owners manual and service manual. Much of the suspension has been gone through and replaced in recent years, including shocks, springs, and bushings. A compression test shows that the motor is very healthy. Dry compression test results: 1: 116 2: 120 3: 119 4: 134 wet compression test results: 1: 130 2: 128 3: 126 4: 140 the underbody of the car is fantastic. There isn’t even surface rust to note. There is absolutely no rot – the car has clearly been garage kept and treated well. Overall, this is a rare, interesting, and charming driver. It truly is a blast to drive. The smiles-to-dollars ratio is extremely strong. For the money, we can’t think of many other cars we’d rather enjoy a sunny weekend drive in. Buy with confidence.

1144 of only 3356 mk1s ever built. It�s a first-generation car, a mk1, which have the smaller euro-spec bumpers, which are much better looking than the big, rubber us-spec bumpers on the later cars.
