The car popularized by magnum p. Ferraris are iconic in their own right but the 308 model became known to the general public thanks to tom selleck’s role in the tv series, magnum p. And, as an added bonus, the 308s are very affordable. Market in february 1981 and sold new in oklahoma city. This is a solid driver with nice cosmetics and strong mechanicals. It has traveled a total of almost 79,000 miles and only about 13,000 miles since its last major service twelve years ago. The car is virtually free of chips and scratches, having been continuously garaged. Post repaint, the bottom panels of the doors were redone and, while not noticeable, are a shade or two different than the rest of the car. The trim is in good condition as is the glass. the interior is finished in black leather that is in good condition except for signs of wear (see picture) on the driver’s seat, and looks great against the red exterior. The carpeting and door panels are all in good condition as well. Strong mechanicals this gts is the “i” series which designates the engine as the later, fuel injected model—a 3. 0 liter, dual overhead cam v-8 that is rated at 205 hp. The engine runs properly through all portions of its power curve making for exciting acceleration and driving. as impressive as the engine is in this 308, the rebuilt transmission makes the car a delight to drive. It shifts smoothly and the synchromesh transmission works smooth as silk on the downshifts. This is a car that is fun to drive whether going hard on a curvy mountain road or cruising around town. Comfort, safety and entertainment equipment the air conditioning on this ferrari works properly and blows cold, making it comfortable to drive even on the hottest days. All of the safety equipment (lights, turn signals, wipers and horn) work properly as well. 1981 ferrari 308 gtsi targa coupe here is what we know about the car. The mileage does look to be correct, it has decent paint and interior. Does not look abused or changed except the radio, tires and wheels. It has been covered and stored in a climate controlled garage, has been stored there for the last 30 years it is started every several months and run up to temperature has a clean title, last registered in oregon 1986 it has been driven less 4k miles in the last 30 years it starts right up, was driven in a large parking lot without any issues. The ferrari shifts and drives excellent, the brakes are solid, everything felt tight, it also attracted a large audience in a very short time. Expensive classic cool custom wheels from the 70's with like new tires, but probably not safe for high speed driving. Just as we received it, we haven't even washed it. Transportation is the responsibility of the winning bidder, we can assist with loading and meeting the driver.
