1979 ferrari 308gts chassis no. 30427 -december 1979 production, making it one of the latest and most collectible carbureted models-14,200 actual miles-matching numbers-wearing original colors-a two owner california car in the mid-1970s everyone was on the lookout for ferraris replacement for the dino. Ferrari engaged pininfarina design legend, leonardo fioravanti, to breathe life into what is now one of ferraris most iconic shapes. The gorgeous design was an instant hit at the 1975 paris motor show and would survive in fundamental form to grace the legendary 288 gto. Underneath, a sophisticated 3 liter 4 cam weber-carbureted v-8 provided the power accompanied by an impressive soundtrack all the way to 7,700 rpm. Much as the db5 aston martin became associated with james bond, the 308 gts gained fame in its own right starring with tom selleck in the magnum pi television series. The matching numbers carbureted example offered here is finished in its original ferrari color combination of white with black leather interior. As a gts, it features a removable targa top but also includes refinements such as air conditioning and power windows. This car is in top-performance specification with its original emissions equipment. The car is not currently running as it has been sitting and requires a major service including cam-belt replacement, after that this 308 gts is ready to be enjoyed. This is a two owner california car that has a documented 14,080 original miles. In 1980 it was sold to the second owner who mildly flared the wings and added deep dish ferrari wheels making it like the group b racing series of the early 1980s. The leather is all original, and not damaged. There are hairline cracks in the modifications to the wheel arches. It is my pleasure to offer for sale for the first time to the public s/n 15220this 1979 example s/n 15220 is near the end of the gt4 run. It comes in the original marrone with black boxer trim. It has a very rare sunroof . The mileage is shown at 14,180 and much documentation is provided to authenticate that mileage as correct. Full engine service with belts was done at 12,400 miles (email for any records). Car was stored for most of the past 10 years and was recently purchased and has been sorted out and brought to its best original condition. Period correct xwx michelins have been put on and all books, tool kit and pouch, jack and pouch, light and two keys are provided. An extensive service book along with substantial information on gt4s is also provided. This car looks great and has a very nice patina and glow. The marrone/boxer and tan combo is stunning. The car was just serviced and made road worthy. It is drivable but the clutch will need replacing soon. This car is best described as currently a very nice driver. As is it really looks sweet. But to maximize it as an investment grade car, a repaint may be the better path needed. As is, it has all the pedigree needed. Unique color , very rare sunroof, very late s/n, very low miles, all original. The vehicle is being sold “as is” on a ct q1 form and reassignment of the title to winning bidder.
