One of only 1,933 produced this was the first year for chrysler’s all-new “fuselage” look, inspired by military aviation – and the 300 convertible displayed it to full effect. Sleek, wide and low, with minimal ornamentation and ready to get down to business. The one-piece wrap-around grille seemed pressed into the front end sheet metal. It made 350 hp and 480 lbs.-ft of torque. And it was merely the standard engine. A three-speed torquflite automatic came with either engine. 1969 chrysler 300 convertible one of only 1,933 produced descended from the famous “letter series” high-performance (and high luxury) line of large chryslers that dated back to the 1950s, the 300 convertible had been classed 300 m convertible until 1966, when the “m” was dropped and the car became simply the 300 convertible. It was believed that the letter series designations had become a liability, as sales of these lead-bellied large chryslers had been flagging for several years. In 1969, only 1,933 were built – vs. 16,075 hardtop coupes and another 14,464 sedans. With a combined two-year production of barely more than 3,000 cars, chrysler decided to drop the 300 convertible. The base msrp for the ’69 300 convertible was $5,060 vs. $4,714 for the hardtop coupe. This is one of the most rare and desired full sized convertibles of its era. For the investor, collector, or enthusiast who appreciates and understands the investment potential of this great american icon. New water pump, carburator was rebuilt, clean the gas tank, and installed new plugs. The vehicle runs perfect now. This collector 1969 chrysler 300 c has been seating for 2 years and the following items are needed: convertible top is ripped on both side by the rear window ( need new top) , i would assume that convertible top cylinder and hose kit need to be replaced ( we have gotten an estimate locally : cost of new top, parts and labor $1475. 00) the old carpet was removed from inside the vehicle : estimate cost of parts and labor $225. 00 the body looks good but need minor adjustments . Minor rust on the right rear quarter panel as well as left rear corner panel by the driver side door. Any mechanical inspection is welcome. Will not last long that's for sure . Engine specs: big block 440 cu. In.(7. 2l) v8 with electronic ignition engine compression test shows all cylinders to be fully up to spec's - 165 to 175 lbs. Psi. / oil pressure 40 lbs. At idle - hot engine / edelbrock 4bbl. High performance carb./ auxiliary tank-mounted fuel pump (electric with dash board cut-off) stock fuel pump can be used instead if desired/ engi.
