My friend purchased this a few years back from a gentleman that had it since 1989. It was his labor of love until he became ill and could not finish it and a friend of mine ended up buying it from him a few years ago. At that point he began to finish the truck as he is mechanically inclined, he purchased a fresh built 350 engine and a rebuilt 350 turbo which he installed. The truck was 75% done when i purchased it. It has a real killer paint and body job that is second to none, it is a base coat clear coat torch red, it is straight as an arrow and as slick as glass and it really pops. I would say the paint job alone is at least $15,000. A few months ago i had my local well known pin striper mildly stripe the truck with the gmc graphic. All of the sheet metal is original to the truck except for the steel cowl hood and new tailgate that i added. Front and rear bumpers are brand new all lights, bezels, grill, and doorhandles are brand new. Tailgate hinges have also been chromed, all glass has been replaced with new window fussies, belt moldings and all weather strip is new as is all of the interior. It has a brand new set of 20" wheels with new nitto tires. I have driven this truck about 500 test miles and to cruise ins and it absolutely runs, rides, and drives like a brand new truck, no squeaks and no rattles. I have owned a lot of high end classic cars in my 68 years and i think this one ranks right up there with any of them as far as attention getter and comments and quality, people can't take their eyes off of it. I have too many things going on right now so i have decided to list it and let someone else do these following thing to it. Now for the things it still needs, #1 the air conditioner, condensor, compresser, everything is hooked up and functional but it does need someone to run the hoses from the compressor to the condenser. This is something that i would have already done although i do not have anyone around my small town that i trust enough to work inside by the inner fenders because their is no scratches, no nicks, no dings, and i'm very particular with my vehicles. #2 it needs an emergency brake cable. #3 the radio is in it and hooked up although theirs an amplifier and speakers neatly mounted behind the seat that need to be hooked up. I have really planned on putting a much nicer stereo system in it at some point but i will leave that to the new owner.
