Worldwide vintage autos is pleased to present this 1971 chevy camaro rs split bumper. These second generation camaros are hot and only starting. This excellent example is a true rs car and commands attention everywhere. History the very sleek second-generation camaro, introduced in february 1970, was built only as a coupe. The sizzling-hot 1970 z28 packed a new 350-cid solid-lifter v-8, while the rs appearance upgrade now featured a split front bumper. Camaro power ratings diminished in 1971 as gm prepared engines for unleaded fuels. 1972 marked the end for the camaro ss — and its big-block 396 v-8 option; two years later, the z28 would go on hiatus. The camaro lt quasi-luxury package appeared in 1973, even as the split-bumper rs entered its final year — making an lt/rs/z28 build possible this year only. A new wrap-around rear window appeared in 1975. Even though 1975-76 camaro models were relatively mundane, sales picked up significantly during 1976. In mid-1977, the z28 returned, featuring bold graphics, extensive handling mods and fair-to-middlin' v-8 performance. Camaro sales reached a record 282,571 in 1979. Among second-generation z28s, the truly brutal '70 is especially prized, while the once plentiful 1978-79s are still easiest to find. Camaros equipped with uplevel lt/berlinetta packages might be the sleepers here. This car has had a professional frame off rotisserie restoration several years ago with no bolt left unturned. Paint/body: the car has a lemans blue paint with the straightest clear coat. This car was completely disassembled and refitted with all new sheet metal and has no rust! On a scale of 1 to 10, i would rate the paint on this car a 9 since i have driven it and has three very, very small chips that have been touched up. Body components: when it was restored, it had all new glass, lights, lenses, bezels, grille, rubbers, seals, chrome, etc. It also has a lot of parts specially machined from aircraft aluminum such as all brackets, pulleys, fender support bars, bolts, alternator bracket, etc. Tires are in great condition 17 inch torque thrust wheels with front tires 235/55/17 and 215/55/17 rear. The car also has full bolt on subframe connectors and chrome traction bars, that are not welded on and can be removed. Interior: all correct black deluxe interior complete with bucket seats, console, factory tach with console gauges, factory chrome bezel ss steering wheel, hurst shifter, factory am radio (doesn't work). Dynamat insulation for nice solid ride. All interior lights, instrument lights, gauges, etc. Work properly as designed. Drivertrain/components/etc: has approximately 17,500 adult local miles driven on restoration complete drivetrain. Non matching very, very desirable and high dollar 69 z/28 dz 302 completely rebuilt (see picture with seal on manifold), solid lift, 12:5:1 polished lifter gallery, bored . 030 over, screw in studs, parallel decked align bored, balanced and machine by performance clinic, heads port matched lightly polished, polished valves, steel retainer, 2. 0 aluminum water pump, serpentine belt system, etc. Runs very strong making a lot of high winding horsepower. The car starts with a bump of a key every time, runs smooth, runs cool, no problems! Rebuilt 69 z/28 muncie m22 rock crusher 4 speed transmission w/hurst shifter. (shifts flawless). 12 bolt posi trac read end with 4:11 gears. Power dis brakes in front and rear. It explains the muscle car boom, and it will unquestionably lead to cars like this 1979 camaro z/28 being collectable and highly-sought in the not-so-distant future. Wearing fresh charcoal gray paint and bereft of the usual cartoony decals, this slick f-body has a decidedly aggressive and modern look. The dark gray paint is a pleasant diversion from the more familiar white and brown zs out there, and the over-the-top looks are chilled by the low-key color. It's quite nicely done, retaining all the z's major styling features, from the chin spoiler to the naca-style duct on the hood to the familiar spoiler out back, so nobody will wonder what kind of car this is. Neatly integrated front and rear fascias successfully updated the second-generation design, keeping it fresh and giving it a new lease on life, and those on this car are the same color as the bodywork, something that often couldn't be said of the originals. This is a great-looking vintage muscle car that gets a ton of attention everywhere it goes, yet totally nails the subtle look. If a camaro can be a sleeper, maybe this is it. The '70s weren't only about outrageous colors and shag carpet, as the handsome, upscale interior ably demonstrates. Looking like it was borrowed from a much more expensive car, the handsome black bucket seat interior looks fresh thanks to replacement seat covers, while things like the carpets, dash pad, and door panels are new. Soft surfaces and high-back buckets make it inviting, and it comes with a full array of factory gauges that appear to be in original condition with some light fading and cloudiness on the lenses. Even the steering wheel, which emulates the string-wrapped wheels of the '30s, is in very good condition. Factory t-tops are a very desirable option, giving this car an open-air experience that most other f-body owners are going to envy. The trunk carries replacement black carpets and a custom-made cover for the spare tire, so it looks tidy. The 350 cubic inch v8 under the hood was pulled from a 1988 chevy, and as a result, carries factory throttle-body fuel injection for a big boost in performance. It was fully rebuilt to stock specs before it went back in, so it runs extremely well and by using factory fuel injection, it idles smoothly and drives like it should, making a lot more power than the original 175 horsepower lump. There's new hardware throughout, including a set of cool valve covers and a serpentine belt drive system with a fresh alternator, making this a camaro that's ready to go with no tinkering required.
