From the 235cu inline six cylinder engine to the 4 speed manual transmission and factory rear differential, still retains its 6 volt charging system and runs like a clock, starting the first time, every time. Upgraded radial tires on chrome reverse wheels for drivability. Paint and exterior panels look and align well with minimal defects. Paint is polished to a high gloss, better than it would have looked in 1946. All panels have fender welting as they should. Original oil bath air filter and engine bay completely stock. The valve cover shows signs of being driven. All gauges work and fuction accurately with the exception of the temperature gauge always reads 180. Glass is new and all chrome looks great. The grill has some signs of age as it appears to still be original condition. Bid to win, bid to own, please ask any and all questions before hand.

This is the pickup truck that got american moving again after wwii. It looked a lot like the pre-war chevys, but this dp-series was part of the first full post-war production year. Chevy would change the style again '47, so these are an interesting single-year designation. The blue paint is quite a nice application with enough gloss to really help emphasize the flowing-fender style of this pickup. It also has some great features like the real wood truck bed and removable texaco decals. And this one just seems to take its role as an american hero quite seriously. After all, the blue paint, red pinstripe, and whitewall tires makes the total package feel quite patriotic. But it's not a true classic american without plenty of brightwork. From the bumpers, to the extra tall grille, to the chevrolet wheel covers, it all has a great mirror-like shine. The interior is still working-class all the way, but that's all part of the vintage truck appeal. The tan interior with tan bench seat brightens the atmosphere. A rubber floor mat and other easy-to-clean materials make maintenance a snap. All of this highlights a truck that's still ready, willing, and able to go to work tomorrow. As expected, this kind of classic engine also has the fantastic old truck exhaust note that chugs along like a freight train. For that added touch of period-correct fun, the motor is mated to a smooth shifting, three-speed column shift manual transmission. It's the kind of old-school driving experience that can make every day feel like a sunday. This 1946 chevrolet 3100 is a great classic pickup that can be driven to work or shows with plenty of pride.
