These cars were among the behemoths of the roads when there were few roads to travel and many were forged by simply traveling them over and over again. By 1937 we as a nation had many highways in place connecting small towns and major cities, and life was good (no, it was grand). The 1937 cadillac was all new and the last of this segment. Equipped with the powerfull and well balanced 346ci v8 the caddy could and did travel at higher speeds and got its occupants to their destination in comfort and safely. Let's not forget that back then these cars were a matter of social status, they weren't the fords, chevys, dodges, or any of the other more affordable primitive wagons of the day. It represented luxury and that's what people wanted. Cadillacs were and still are well known worldwide and a primary choice for many foreign political dignitaries and the wealthy of foreign lands. This particular caddy was acquired by us from a very proud owner whom claimed that he drove this cadillac everywhere without question and it would travel down the highway at 80mph smoothly... We all know how opinionated some people can be and i definitely did not argue with the gentleman or doubt him in anyway. Needless to say, we have the caddy and we love it! This cadillac runs great and it is a blast to drive. The cadillac series 60 was cadillac's mid-priced entry in the luxury vehicle market when it appeared in 1936. It was replaced by the series 61 in 1939, but a model that was derived from it, the sixty special, continued off and on through 1993. The series 60 was the brainchild of new cadillac manager, nicholas dreystadt. Debuting in 1936, it filled a gaping price gap between the lasalles and series 70 cadillac models. Initially it rode on a 121. 0 in (3,073 mm) wheelbase and shared the b body with cars from lasalle, buick, and oldsmobile. This went up to 124. 0 in (3,150 mm) in 1937-38. The exterior featured a new harley earl-designed look with a tall, slender grille and split vee-shaped windshield. This body used fisher body's new turret top one-piece roof and bendix dual-servo brakes. "knee-action" independent suspension, first introduced by cadillac in 1934, was a welcome novelty for the mid-price market at the time.[2] under the hood was the new (less expensive) monoblocv8. This 322 cu in (5. 3 l) engine produced 125 hp (93 kw), just 10 less than that in the larger cadillacs. The series 60 immediately became the company's best-selling model, making up half of all cadillacs sold the first year. The next year, displacement on all monobloc cadillacs was 346 cu in (5. 7 l). This new engine produced 135 hp (101 kw), more than all v8 cadillacs of just a few years earlier. The series 60 was superseded by the series 61 and disappeared after 1938..

The paint shows extremely well considering the restoration is roughly 30 years old. The floors, inner fenders and bottom of the doors are all solid and show no sign of damage or repair. The car has all original, factory steel. There is a fender mounted full size spare tire. There is a jack and tire iron as well. The flathead v8 was rebuilt in 2016. It runs smoothly and responds well. The 3 speed manual transmission shifts as it should. This car does down the road well with no shimmies, shakes or pulls. The firestone whitewall tires are in great shape. The chrome hubcaps and chrome bumpers are polished and in great conditioned. The running boards are solid and the rubber pads are in excellent shape. The brakes stop the car well and the steering is tight and handles with ease. This car was originally from seattle, washington. The car was re-located to kansas and then to wisconsin where it changed hands and then moved to michigan where it was well cared for and loved. The car comes with 1937 license plates from michigan and kansas. The odometer reads 64,634 miles and it is believed to be original miles. The interior presents very well, the seats, headliner and door panels are in very nice shape. The dashboard is original with all of its proper gauges and controls.

In 1937, cadillac styling was completely refreshed. The series 75 was powered by a 346 cubic inch (5. 7 l) monobloc v8 engine and a stylish fleetwood body. The 1937 convertible sedan has drip moldings running from the bottom of the front pillar, up and over the doors and rear quarter window, new fenders and bumpers, headlights rigidly attached and adjusted by a moving reflector, wheel discs incorporated in the hubcaps and a built-in trunk. A die-cast eggcrate grill would become a standard feature on cadillac for years to come. A “v” emblem indicating 8 cylinders under the long hood is mounted on the upper right-hand side of the grille. Engine changes include a lighter flywheel, a generator relocated in the vee, an oil filter, a carburetor with full automatic electric chock, an oil bath cleaner, and a relocated distributor. A new transmission design features pin-type synchronizers, shifter rails relocated to the side of the case, a cover on the bottom of the case and an extension integral with the transmission mainshaft. This cadillac convertible sedan benefits from a full professional restoration. The new leather is perfect and enhances the admiral blue paint. The radials are new for a wonderful ride at highway speeds. The custom body is by fleetwood. The odometer shows 73,700 miles which we believe to be correct. All lights and gauges are clear and in good working order. All invoices are available for the work completed to date.
