The bmw m3 (e30) has started a legacy that has yet to end over the past 30 years. When the e30 m3 was launched in 1985 it was done so to keep bmw current and competitive with mercedes-benz who had just released the 190e 2. 3-16 cosworth. By 1988 bmw finally started delivering u. Spec” examples of the m3 to north america, both factory and privateer teams immediately put them to work on the track. A small enthusiasts base was quickly growing for the new m car, and would ultimately prove to be a love affair with the brand and the basis for bmw to keep making more units and further improving their technology. Despite the homolagtion requirements, the group a version of the m3 was drastically different than the road-going version. This is most apparent in the price difference between to two. $120,000 usd was the factory price for a new race ready m3 while the us spec m3 sold for $34,000. We have all documents and receipts on this m3 with a full binder of history. This m3 was very well cared for by a local bmw enthusiast/collector that kept meticulous records. It saddens me to be finally selling this car for a more practical dd. I purchased the car in january 2012 and have only added roughly 14k miles over five years. The car has always been garaged and hand washed frequently during the time it saw a lot of road. It has been sitting in a garage for 90% of the past three years. Overall the car is in great shape. Drives likes a dream with no problems whatsoever. Only cosmetic issue is with the front bumper which ive detailed below. Interior condition: 9. 5/10the interior of the car is immaculate. The leather is as good as one would hope. There are no tears, stains, cracks, etc. Wear is most noticable on drivers seat but only slight creases in the leather. Passenger and back seat is clean! Center cup holder trim has slight scratches but this is easily replaced if one so chooses. New set of oem interior mats were purchased at ~55,xxx miles. Exterior condition: 8. 0/10the exterior of this car is a head-turner. Stanced with 19 bbs lm championship edition wheels, the car is one-of-a-kind. Paint is original with minor scratches/nicks from normal driving. Unfortunately, i rate the exterior an 8/10 because of the condition of the front bumper. The passenger side carbon lip was torn off when pulling out of a lot with a low curb. No damage was done to the wheel but the bumper mount is torn on the passenger side and the alignment of the bumper is off. Still completely drivable with no issues. Finally, there is rash on the rear wheels. Not bad at all and easily fixed. Mechanical condition: 9. 5/10no mechanical issues whatsoever. Oil change done with castrol 10w60. Mechanic made no mention of any subframe issues during last oil change. I have not had the vanos inspected. No modifications, never raced or ever kept outside. He purchased the car new from bmw of dallas and had the car serviced there routinely for the past two decades and the carfax backs up that claim. The bmw m3 is a high-performance version of the bmw 3 series, developed by bmw's in-house motorsport division, bmw m. The first e36 m3 to be imported to the united states was the 1995 model, which used the s50b30us engine with 240 bhp (179 kw; 243 ps) and 305 nm (225 lbft), a different suspension setup and a 0-60 mph (97 km/h) time in about six seconds. It was available with five-speed manual and automatic transmissions. An m3 lightweight was produced in limited numbers for the 1995 model year. The 19961999 model years had displacement bumped up to 3. 2 litres, still with 240 bhp (179 kw; 243 ps), but torque increases to 320 nm (240 lbft) which is the same s52b32us engine used in the early m roadster and m coupe. The manual gearbox remains a 5-speed despite the european versions being upgraded to 6-speed. It was also available as a saloon starting in model year 1997, and as convertible in 1998. This rare vehicle will not disappoint the pickiest of collectors or driving enthusiasts! The body and undercarriage are fully intact with no rust or corrosion. All numbers matching with vin tags intact. The exterior is all original paint with the exception of the hood and front bumper for stone chips (documented). All the paint has a great finish with no significant flaws or imperfections. The interior shows well with tight upholstery, clean carpets and no visible wear areas. One of approximately 126 m3 ltws made available by bmw as a homologation version of bmws factory race cars. These special edition m3s were delivered with major weight reductions including no radio, no air conditioning, reduced weight manual seats wrapped in hurricane black cloth, no sunroof, no tool kit, aluminum door skins, reduced carpeting and limited sound insulation. Mechanical changes include a stiffer sport suspension, 3. 23:1 ratio limited slip differential, and an ecu programming change to remove the top speed limiter.
