The gremlin was sold by amc from 1970 through1978. My gremlin has a 6 cylinder 258 cu engine. I have owned this car for sixyears and it is time for someone else to enjoy it as much as i have. Theprevious owner rebuilt the engine, redid the interior, painted the car red andreally restored the car. For a 40 year old car, it is in great shape. There aresome minor issues with the car that can be fixed easily and inexpensively. Thepaint is worn in some spots and it should be repainted. The car has some rust,but nothing that affects the structural integrity of the car. The only“major” problem with the car is that is has a transmission fluid leak. Mymechanic tells me that it needs a new seal. Have replaced intake and exhaustmanifold gaskets, replaced heater core, heater hoses, repaired ac hose andrecharged system, new master cylinder, carburetor, distributer, coil, replacedengine mounts, replaced thermostat, replaced water pump, removed the gas tanksending unit and replaced float. Think that all about sums up all the repairssince 2011. It runs and stops with no problems and isa fun car to drive. It has never been a trailer queen, although not a dailydriver. Never crashed and never abused, the car has a very retro interior and ithas an am/fm radio. The radio is not original to the gremlin, but came from a1970’s amc hornet. It has some other minor issues the passenger door handle istough to open, but does open, just hard, the rubber around the rear window/hatchis the wrong size so the rear window/hatch does n. I am putting up for sale my 1973 gremlin. I bought my gremlin, or as i call him “gizmo”, in august of 2005. Gizmo was my daily driver as i drove to college and work. Gizmo has been a southern california car all his life. As i understand it, i am gizmo’s second owner. Beliciu of inglewood, who bought gizmo new from walker brothers amc of los angeles. Gizmo still has the walker brothers frame on his rear license plate. Gizmo has around 126,863 original miles on him with his original running gear and has been a rolling restoration, but with my dad’s heart attack the complete restoration was put on hold. I bought a new truck, and gizmo has not been driven much, so gizmo is in need of a good home. I put gizmo on e-bay with a high reserve a couple of times to find out what was the general asking price for a gremlin. And, that is a history of gizmo, and now some of the facts. I am putting gizmo up for bid, with a starting price of $3000 with no reserve. Gizmo is a running car with no rust and two things not in working order. They are that the heater core is bypassed because it was leaking, but gizmo comes with new core, but someone needs to put it in. We think the fuel tank float has a leak, because we traced out wiring and can’t find a short anywhere. Gizmo comes with all his parts, jack, spare tire, owner’s manual, shop manual and so on. Gizmo’s factory options are 258 cid engine with the floor mounted torque-command automatic transmission, power steering, front disc brakes, locking gas cap, two speed windshield wipers with delay and the javelin bucket seats. The am push-button radio was a factory option, but is disconnected for a homemade console that uses the antenna and power to run a more powerful sound system, but the console is just pressed in, so no bolt holes or cuts have been made. This was done, because we were going to install the rally-pac console and instrument package, both console and dash. It took some time to find them, but they also go with gizmo, along with a lot of other parts too long to list. Please note the rally-pac gauges have not been checked and may need restoration. The interior is all original, but the driver’s seat has a rip in it. There are some dents on the car, and it looks like there is a second coat of white paint. I'm not sure why or how, but the rear plastic panel between the bumper and body is broken in places. Gizmo has some valve noise, and it seems to be just one lifter, but this noise has been there since day one. Gizmo is a little nice gremlin and a great restoration candidate! Don’t miss this one at motoexotica classic cars, a 1976 amc gremlin. This car was made in kenosha, wisconsin and delivered to charlesworth pontiac-amc/jeep, inc. On highway 71 south in springdale, arkansas. Its first owner took delivery on december 17, 1976 and he owned the car until early 80's and then sold the gremlin to a friend who then owned the car until 2016, the car remained in the springdale arkansas area since new until we acquired the vehicle. We have never seen such a correct gremlin with so much documentation, this would be a great entry level classic car to invest and hold on to long term! This gremlin left kenosha with the following optional equipment – whitewall tires, interior appointment package, tinted glass – all windows, am pushbutton radio and a heavy-duty cooling system. The factory correct sunshine yellow exterior is in near-excellent overall condition, including the blacked-out headlight and taillight bezels, but there is a minor mark near the passenger-side front marker light. The car’s trim is in good condition, too. The glass panels are in overall good order but the windshield bears some blemishes from previous windshield wipers. The car’s body panels are straight and solid and there’s a metal rack atop the roof for extra storage. The cargo area is in good condition and includes a full-sized spare tire. The bumpers are in very good order, the engine bay is tidy and the battery looks new. Under the hood is amc’s 232 cid straight six-cylinder engine, backed by a borg-warner three-speed manual transmission with floor shift. Inside, the car’s tan interior looks good. The split-folding front seat and fold-down rear seat are in very good condition, the complementing tan carpet is in good order while the matching tan headliner looks great. The tan instrument panel looks good and the original two-spoke steering wheels add to the car’s economy vibe. The inner door panels are in very good order. The mirror glass and shift lever are in good shape. Rounding out the interior is that factory am pushbutton radio. Documentation includes original window sticker, owner’s manual, service specifications brochure, consumer information brochure, original dealer maintenance card and a folder full of service receipts. Competition to this gremlin in 1976 included chevrolet’s chevette, datsun’s b210, dodge’s colt, ford’s pinto, honda’s civic, mercury’s bobcat and toyota’s corolla. Current mileage on the odometer shows79,765 miles. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, mileage exempt title.
