Worldwide vintage autos is pleased to present this 1951 willys jeep cj3. It replaced the world war ii willys mb and ford gpw models, and had a total production of more than 60,000 units. The m38 was a military version of the then-current civilian jeep cj-3a. The m38 differed from the cj-3a in numerous ways, including a reinforced frame and suspension, waterproof 24-volt electrical system, sealed vent system for the engine, transmission, transfer case, fuel system and brake system. Some m38 jeeps were assigned to the korean theatre of operations, but the majority of vehicles used in that conflict were rebuilt wwii vintage. Interior -new interior. -factory gauges. -uncut dash! Mechanical -just installed era correct 4 cylinder engine. Just out of break in only 500 miles! -serviced stock drive line. -warn hubs. Disclosure -minor chips / imperfections in paint. 1951 jeep willys for sale. Rebuilt engine, new clutch. Fiberglass body with new ragtop. Runs and drives great. It doesn't have a lot of top speed because of the low gear ratio. These jeeps were geared very low for the military. Top speed is probably about 50 mph. I owned one several years ago just like it. To get more mph, i put bigger, taller tires on it, to compensate for the low gear ratio. Trust me, it has ample power to turn bigger tires. Lots of power for a 4 cylinder. Located in cadillac michigan showroom trades welcomed.
