Starts every time and runs very well. Was owned by a mechanic for the last 20 years so mechanically everything has been maintained. It has been used though. The two problems i've had is the instrument (speedometer and tachometer) cluster needs to be fixed (got an estimate from vintage volvo in slc for $200) and there is an intermittent short in the driver side brake light which should be an easy fix. The interior is relatively good considering how old it is. Pioneer deck and new speakers. Would make for a good first car for any teen that needs some humility lol. Text or call with questions. 1986 volvo 240 sedan with 75,000 original miles. This is an original-paint, clean and extremely well-kept car. It is my opinion that this is one of the nicest 240s for sale anywhere in the country. I am a collector, european auto fanatic and volvo fan and i've had about eight of these 240s in my lifetime, this being the best-condition one by far. I love 240s so much that last year i drove one across the country from portland, or to cleveland, oh (nearly 3000 miles) just for the adventure of it! This car has been superbly cared for since new, and in excellent condition in every way. This car has avoided rust by being extensively undercoated and rustproofed, as well as having an electronic rust proofing system, as well as very little winter driving. The interior is extremely clean- the carpets, seat upholstery, and interior plastics are all really clean and in very nice condition. There are no rips or wear marks in the seat and no stains or rips in the carpets. The carpets are so clean they look like new. They have been covered since new by the heavy-duty volvo rubber floor mats. This 240 runs and drives outstandingly well. This car is tight, solid and very stable. No rattles, no shimmies and no sloppiness. The engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, steering, etc are all in excellent condition with no issues. The hvac blower motor works properly with no noise. The tires are nearly new. This is a 100% dependable and reliable car that i would trust to drive anywhere. The air conditioning is still an r12 system and it isn't currently blowing cold. I have not tried to charge the system with new refrigerant, but marks under the hood indicated the system was working recently (and probably would again). This volvo is stock and all original right down to the factory volvo radio which works great. All of the gauges including the odometer are working properly. It is increasingly difficult to find clean, rust-free and original volvo 240s in this part of the country. This car is kept inside my garage in willoughby, oh.
