This vehicle received the fuel lines to accept biodiesel fuel, and two 55 gallon barrels for storing fuel, along with the hand crank pump will convey with the truck if desired by the auction winner, as well as a 5 gallon plastic fuel can that is full of diesel which seems to be fine. This is my friend's truck, it's a 1982 Rabbit Diesel pickup truck (Caddy) that started its life as a gas truck. As the pictures show, it's a nice truck with a lot of money thrown into it over the years

I am reluctantly selling my 1980 vw caddy. It is a great runner, the stock engine has had very minimal mechanical issues and has been a great truck for me. It is an early westy caddy which was only made for 1 year and has a rare color combo with lipstick red on white. The front left fender has also been crinkled a bit. There is still good tread on the tires and the suspension feels pretty good. Brake master was recently done as well as distributor and tune up. It has a rhino lined bed that is in great shape, and comes with a camper topper that is white and matches the truck. It has passed safety and emissions no problem every year and comes with a few extra parts. It has been a great car.

1982 volkswagen rabbit pickup "caddy" completely restored. Came from the south,zero rust. Motor: crate abf 2. 0 16v european import with ~10k miles. Jenvey itb's with jenvey dta standalone fuel techtonics tuning exhaust. Transmission: 020 5spd rebuilt when motorwas installed and powder coated. Paint is audi lava grey and is perfect. Engine bay and inside doors are perfectas well. Chrome door hardware. Chrome tailgate hardware. European small chromefront bumper. Custom roll pan with hidden license plate holder. Porsche doorhandles. Interior: power recaro trophys recovered in perforatedsuede and leather. Dash and headliner is suede as well. Momo classic steeringwheel. Oem vw digifiz cluster w/7k rpm. Billet shifter and window cranks. Wheeltire setup: porsche d90's 16x7, 16x8 professionally refinished in a brushedaluminum with tinted clear powder on top (flawless). Tires, 165/45 on fronts and195/40 on rears. Less than 6k on setup. Suspension: front has weitec coiloversand the rear has a custom air shock setup with gauge and controls in dash. Allbushings were replaced with poly bushings. No expense was spared when built. I've owned it for going on 3 years and have won best of show at multipleshows. I think it blew a resistor (but not 100% sure). I havenot removed it to check. Turn signals and high beam indicators do work. Throwout bearing is chattering a bit and will need to be replaced in the future. Other than that, no surprises.

Well, I drove it back a couple years ago and this has been my beloved car, a loyal daily driver and long haul trucker. This has a 1.9L non-turbo diesel engine, more powerful than the original 1.6L (I affectionately call this my sports car). This has a 1.9L diesel engine which gives it way more pickup than the standard 1.6L

With about 75k sold in the 4 years it was distributed in the usa it was determined that it was not the best idea of the vw execs had hoped for. This very nice two owner “caddy” is in remarkable shape for its age and the fact that most of these were abused, neglected and then junked. This truck was sold new in houston texas out of mahan volkswagen to robert goodwin in sugarland texas on october 15th 1982 and represented the last pickup the dealer sold and may have been one of the few left over on dealers lots in that year. It then was sold to a owner in florida before resting in the hands of the current owner out of chicago. Vehicle has been always well cared for and was given the proper service and attention it deserved and not being exposed to the winter conditions that many fell prey to. Vehicle carries some nice features; sliding rear window, leather seats, pioneer stereo, a/c, 14in period correct gti wheels, and proper factory equipment. Vehicle only shows 85k miles and recent service includes; rebuilt injector pump by bosch, all fresh fluids, and new timing belt done. Vehicle comes with some records, original owner’s manual/service book, shop manuals and many extra parts. This car can only go up in value as lesser vehicles are bringing more money.
