The 2.5 liter straight six has twin Stromberg carburetors and makes 101 horsepower and plenty of torque. The TR6 was the haloed affordable British sports car and the last of the traditional English roadsters with the big 6 cylinder engine. (Yes, we know:the Brits drink their Guinness warm, yet this car has air conditioning!) Probably originally destined for a Yank, but please don't hold that against this TR Air Conditioning

The engine was rebuilt by the owner about 5,000 miles ago and newer replacement parts include front end components including springs, shocks and kingpins, a replaced servo and brake master cylinder and clutch tube. The TR6 is powered by an in line 6 cylinder motor that is coupled in this case to a 4 speed manual transmission with overdrive. She has been owned by the same owner for over 30 years; the car was painted (its original color) about 20 years ago
Almost 100,000 units were produced in the eight year production run from 1968 through 1976 and of those only 8,370 were kept in the UK for retail. Some will argue that the TR6 is one of Leyland's best achievements, not only for the production numbers but also the design and performance. Some optional and now sought after equipment is the overdrive that offered a much refined highway gear and a factory steel hardtop
