Custom cycle in watertown, ny. I requested this bike to be built in late 2009. It is a 650cc, twin-cylinder, single carb head and runs like a top. It will idle all day long. No stalling, no hesitation; starts easily, one to two kicks. It is a hard tail with a 6 inch stretch. Everything is powder coated; frame, gas/oil tank, rear fender, etc. It has a 16 inch rear wheel with an avon tire. The front is a 21 inch, british made oem rim. The front wheel hub is an original 1970 with twin leading brake shoes. Both front and rear brakes work great. It has a custom hand tooled leather seat with 4 inch barrel springs. The number 25 on the seat stands for the 25th custom british motorcycle that hartz bros. It is a blast to sit on while riding. Upgrades include: a tri-spark ignition system. It is, in my opinion, the best setup for a vintage, british motorcycle. In addition to the ignition system, i purchased a dual output 12 volt coil, new solid copper core leads and ngk lb05ep suppressor caps (see pictures). I purchased all of these items from tri-spark in australia. I also added a custom-made chain tensioner, which can be swiveled upward to keep proper chain tension; an oil filter was added which takes the original style oil filter used in the triumph trident, a horn and mirror (required in texas) and a new duolamp rear brake/running light. This motorcycle is not necessarily a 1969. It is a compilation of parts from the era. The reason it is titled as a 1969 is because hartz bros. Sold it to me with a bill of sale only (no title). When i went to the texas dmv to get a title, the texas dvw determined this bike was a 1969 and told me i had to purchase a bond because of the "no title", in order to title the bike. It has been garage kept (climate controlled) since purchase. This is a turn key motorcycle that needs nothing; put gas in it, start up and ride. It has been meticulously maintained, rarely ridden, very solid, steady and handles great. As shown in the photo, there are some vintage tools and spares that are included with the sale of this bike; ie: gasket, seals, oil filter, spark plugs and more. There are additional photos i can share that are not included in this ad. This motorcycle is being sold "as is", no warranty is implied or expressed. Funds shall be received in full before shipping. This incredible 1964 triumph tr-4 was bought new at university triumph wa in june of 1964. It was adored and lovingly cared for more than 50 years by william weiss until he sadly died in late 2014 during that half a century of loving ownership william put only 68,000 original miles on the car. Other than driving to and from shipping trucks all of the original 68,000 miles have been put on this car by william. This tr4 was garage kept and meticulously maintained. William’s wife struggled with what to do with the car and decided to put it up for sale. She realized that william would have wanted it to be lovingly owned by a new a family who would take care of it and appreciate it. She sold the car to a local dealer (brad hallock) who recognized how special this car truly was in february 2015. It is now time to find it a good home and tell its great story in accordance with william’s wishes. The car comes with amazing documentation and maintenance records since new as well as a letter from the previous owner’s wife certifying the cars original miles. Though obviously loved this tr-4 was definitely driven by william. The car was driven on family trips and to work on good days. William’s wife confirmed that the car was never raced although during the first 6 years of its life, william did attend various scca races as a spectator where he displayed the car. He proudly made record of this on a metal display in the trunk. The car came from the factory in the very rare black over black leather interior combination. Please see the attached triumph heritage certificate. William did give the car a high quality repaint some point in its life. Otherwise this car is completely original and looks amazing. The body is very straight and shows no signs of damage. Doors, hood, fenders and trunk fit wonderfully. The glass is original and the chrome and bright work is in amazing shape for their age. The interior is a real time capsule. The leather seats show no rips or tears and look great. The wood dash is original and in excellent condition. The steering wheel is crack free. The door cards, carpet and trunk area are in outstanding shape as well. The cars gauges works as they should, the radio turns on but does not play. The soft top was replaced in 1974. The 2138 cc motor runs starts first time every time and runs like a swiss watch. The engine bay is clean and tidy and it is clear that it has run this way since new. The transmission shifts smoothly and the car is a pleasure to drive in town and at highway speeds. Braking is excellent and the car has nearly new michelin tires and spare. The original wire wheels look great and are well balanced. The car comes with its original owner’s manual, original tools, keys and wire wheel spare.
