My trans am has a custom 9. 00" 12 bolt rear housing with an detroit trutrac differential rear end with 4:11 rear gears, and 35 spline axles, 1350 slip yoke, and an aluminum t/a rear diff. Cover with stud girdle, to keep the rear end cool. The axle housing was purchased from darrell waltrip @ dwmotor sports (former nascar 3x champion, and hall of fame driver), and shipped to diff works in corona, ca. Who installed the differential, and gears, in 2008. In 2012 the axle was serviced by currie enterprises of anaheim, ca. Where it was completely disassembled, hot tanked, and reassembled with all new bearings, and gaskets. The rear end only has 3,500 miles on it, since it's build! I purchased this trans am from the original owner. I have the original sales contract, window sticker from the dealer, and receipts for all work the done to this incredible car! There is an incredible list of standard features that came on this car, it was fully loaded, and was a showroom car at the time of it's purchase. Now for a list of the performance features that make this car stand out from the rest! It has goodyear eagle f1, gs d3, 275/40/zr17 tires wrapped around those factory 17" polished aluminum rims, a k&n fipk carbon fiber air intake, a hotchkiss strut tower brace, a cags skip shift eliminator, on that 6speed transmission with a factory hurst short throw shifter. It is for that reason that i mention that the car is for sale as is, where is! I will make myself available for any inspections! There are no take backs, or post sale adjustments! I digress, let me go on about its performance mods. In 2008, with only 74,500 miles on the clock, the differential was added, along with shock relocation brackets. Fitted with kyb agx fully adjustable shocks, and struts. The car was lowered 1" with lg motorsports world rally g2 supersprings, a g2 torque arm, g2 adjustable lower control arms, g2 adjustable panhard rod. Lg motorsports g2 sway bars front, and rear! All these mod's have only 3500 miles on them! I have most all of the service records from day one! Receipts for all professional modifications! And professional installations only! This trans am has recently been fully serviced over $3000 worth! Including a gmc dealer block check (no cracked block), carbon check (no leaking head gaskets, no warped or cracked heads)., and a cooling system check. All fluids, mobil 1 extended life synthetic motor oil, and filter, new water pump, and gaskets, new thermostat & gaskets, new radiator cap, new radiator hoses and two dealer installed clamps, new coolant recovery tank with new cap, and coolant level reader, new dexcool extended life anti-freeze, new serpentine drive belt, new castrol dextron vi synthetic transmission fluid per dealer recommendation, new interstate battery with an 84 month warranty, new lucas gear oil 75- 90, and torco limited slip positive traction fluid in the rear differential. New power steering fluid, brakes are good on all 4 corners, topped off with new dot 3 brake fluid, topped off clutch master cylinder. (note: only mobil1 has been used in this car by both owners) the combination of the ls1 motor combined with the six speed short shifting manual transmission, and the racing suspension with its 12 bolt rear end sporting those 4:11''s makes for a really great experience! 0 - 60 in 5. 0 second's! I have a dyno sheet from 2002, that shows that it puts down 318hp to the rear wheels, meaning that it turns out 413hp @ the crank, and 340 ft. Lbs of torque to the wheels! Note that when the 2001-2002 trans am ws6's came out, stock, they were faster than the base corvettes! There actual hp figures were highly under reported by gm to the government. This car gets many compliments! And it's no wonder why! The performance, and looks of this trans am truly, just cant be beat! As of 2014 this car was still getting positive reviews of honorable mention, some 13 years later after it's production. In major magazines when they were debuting the new 2014 corvettes!
