Mg a division of the british motor corporation produced just over 225,000 midgets from 1961 through 1980. The earliest versions or the mk i was essentially a slightly more expensive version of the austin healey sprite using a lot of the same components including engines all the way through the end of production. Over the years the engines grew from the 948cc with the mk i and ended up with the 1500 cc out of the triumph spitfire with the mk iv's. These engines produced a whopping 65 hp, they were capable of 100 mph speeds. These cars became iconic over time in the vintage race scenes, especially in the uk. The mg midget challenge is a series dedicated to the midget. The 1976 midget offered here is a very solid example. The paint shows some patina, but yet represents well. The interior appears to have newly reupholstered seats and a new vinyl top. The midget comes with a spare tire and a upgraded sound system with a sony cd player and explod speakers. The midget also has a tonneau cover and luggage rack. It rides on 13 inch tires that are mounted to factory steel wheels with beauty rings. Starts and runs great, I restored this MGA in the 80's and it has beengaraged since that time. Needs some minor work on paint, lower panels arefiberglass and solid. Chrome has some rust. Many parts replaced, the grill isfrom a MK11 1600 but it is a 1500 coupe. Fun car to drive and work on.

Here is a nice 1979 MG MGB Convertible with only 81,000 original miles that was bought new in California. The person who bought it new moved to Alabama in 2004 where a friend of mine bought it. He restored it about 4 months ago. It has new paint, new convertible top, new interior and new tires. It is powered by a 1.8 Liter 4 cylinder overhead valve pushrod engine that runs great. This engine is rated 83 HP with a top speed of 106 MPH. When it was restored he put Electronic Ignition on it and did away with the points to make it start and run better. It has the factory 4 speed manual transmission that shifts good. It has power disc brakes on front with rack & pinion steering. The body is straight and there is no rust issues. All the glass looks good and the windows roll up and down good. It has had added a nice Pioneer Stereo/CD player. It also has the new soft top and has a the hard top as well. The trunk are is very solid and clean and has a spare tire and jack along with the convertible top boot for when the top is down. The engine compartment is clean as well. All the gauges work except the RPM gauge. All the lights work as well. This is a very fun car to drive and gets great gas mileage. It runs out strong and handles very good. CD Player
